Nothing else much happening so thought i’d sling this race up. I’ve doubled up Elusive Wave with Youmzain(yeah i know) for the double. I screwed up yesterday on the Irish Stakes. I knew STS was gonnae win despite backing everything bar him, so i flung the STS 1st in a tri cast with the top 3. Now i haven’t done these tri casts thing before where you predict the top 3, and i thought you take the odds and multiply them bye each other i.e STS 10/11, F7G 15/8, MCM 6/1. Imagine my shock when i logged in thinking i’d clawed a few bob back, only to see an absolute pittance.

September 6, 2009 at 14:50 #247517Can you do a Tricast in a non-handicap?

Probably why it was a pitance/// be some rule says SFC first two named.?
Nice change to the usual Graeme can we expect horsie pics next week? I like backing the shiny ones :lo
On a serious note are we going to see Gladiatorus try and gallop rthis lot into the ground. They don’t seem to be making enough use of the horse, perhaps hasn’t come to itself yet?
I hate when horses like that are in a race..the minute you don’t back them they sure as hell come out and win.
Real dodgy looking race easier to pick a loser (Virtual) than the winner but I’d side with you on Elusive Wave if forced to.
September 6, 2009 at 16:32 #247534Gladiatorus has absolutely no chance !!!
Everyone wait on me guys, i was the highest rated horse in the world not so long ago.

September 6, 2009 at 16:55 #247538I think that Balthazar’s Gift has to be backed e/w as he owes me nothing following his brilliant runs this season, which have earned me a fair bit. For the Win, it has to be Elusive Wave, class horse and well up to winning something like this if you take any of her 2 last runs.
Win: Elusive Wave
e/w: Balthazar’s GiftOther races.
Longchamp
1.15 – Prix Rochette (2 year olds)
Siyouni – Went down to a good horse last time out and looked like a superstar before that. Banker bet at 2/1.2.25 – Prix Du Pin
Proviso – Tricky to win with but her Prix Du Rothschild form entitles her to win this.
2 pts win. Maybe a small e/w on Secret Society.3.35 – Prix Du Lutece
Maighar. Could win a Gold Cup if he goes well enough. 4 pts win.3.45 Baden Baden
Could be a real cracker here. I’ve done this so many times with Youmzain. Does he want to win today?? Simple yes or no. If he does, it’s over. if not, lay him. I might have to be in the lay camp, seeing as Weiner Walzer and Getaway are both capable of winning this and as shown last time, will battle to the wire.
2 pt Lay Youmzain.
September 6, 2009 at 17:43 #247558Haven’t really looked at this race, but surely Aqlaam wins, no? Thought he’d be a 2/1 shot.
September 6, 2009 at 18:09 #247570Sorry, late post, but it ain’t post time yet. Based upon the G3 winners early this afternoon it seems to be on the easy side of good, so I’ll issue tips for the two Pivotal horses, Virtual and Summer Fete.
edit: Oh well, maybe my perception of the ground was wrong.
Class will out. Well done horsesmouth.
September 6, 2009 at 18:21 #247576Didn’t back it

It’s a 20 minute drive to the nearest bookies and I have a severe hanover, didn’t feel like it

He’s a good horse though, Famous Name ran well too. Pity about Elusive Wave.
September 6, 2009 at 20:14 #247587And the run of Gladiatorus again has us wondering what goes on in Dubai

And also what’s going on in Ajtebi’s head

September 6, 2009 at 21:52 #247596I’m so angry, I really am. Got 4s and 7/2 about a horse who should have been a 6/4 shot and I don’t even get a run for my money. Steaming.

Wasn’t best pleased myself mate. It’s not the first time it’s happened to me this season. It’s not as if any of them had previous history. I agree with John McCririck when he said it should be classified as a non runner if it dosen’t get 50 yards out of the stall for example. I’m cutting down on the races. Even the benefit of the doubt goes to the bookmaker who already have a license to print money.
September 6, 2009 at 22:11 #247600Was working in Corals today and a chap had put £40 on her seconds before the off and straight away on the screens it said she was under starters orders. I really don’t care losing my money if she’s not good enough, but Jesus wept, she was backed in from 4s to 5/2 and given it was Pricewised as well the bookies have made a killing. I just want a run for my money and I think all punters should get a run for their money. Excusez Moi was unseated in the very next race at York right after leaving the stalls as well.
And you can bet they’d have been just waiting to give the money back if the rag had won it.
September 6, 2009 at 23:42 #247610Its frustrating, but if you had backed the winner you’d have no doubt been spitting feathers if they had Rule 4’d your winnings by declaring Elusive Wave a N/R, and Big Mac would be whining on about that instead.
The rules are fair and correct in my opinion, not much different to backing a 1st fence faller over the birch really.
September 7, 2009 at 23:17 #247772That’s fair enough. However, i paid for a horse to run and it never ran. I don’t feel that i got a fair crack of the whip. I’m not a moaner, i’m just cutting back on bets. They may rub their hands when a horse dosen’t leave the stall, but i’d imagine they will lose custom in the long run.(not that they care i’d imagine)
