She was great at BC day, Found. With the form from this year being very consistent it should be no surprise to anyone if she comes out on top at Chantilly.
Thanks for sharing, BotchyOne.Best Wishes
SilkSeptember 24, 2016 at 12:09 #1264589Found does seem to thrive in the autumn. It was a superb run in the Irish champion and as her best performance is over 12 f definitely got a good chance. I wonder if Ryan will choose her over minding and order of st George. Very tricky decision.
September 24, 2016 at 12:51 #1264602The glaring issue in backing Found is her strike rate, which is 5/18, or 28%.
She has placed in numerous races but I prefer a horse who is more prolific in actually winning.
The Breeders Cup was a terrific pot to win but Golden Horn was having his 8th start in a gruelling season of top class contests, we saw Dancing Brave fail in America after a similar campaign.
On balance, having weighed up her career, I feel Found is probably better at 10F but considering how many times she has run when seemingly miles short of her best it is difficult to be too pragmatic about it.
Doesn’t win often enough for my liking and she’s an easy pass for me because of that. I can’t see her beating Postponed at this trip.
If you have huge odds then that’s obviously a good bet but seeing how keen they are to run Order Of St George here makes me feel Aidan needs another contender to boost their chances. I doubt these are the runners that would have been seen as the stable’s perceived best chances at the start of the season.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 24, 2016 at 14:08 #1264630Found’s run in the Breeders Cup was her eighth in 2015 (including 6 G1s), her fifth in two months and her third in October alone.
September 25, 2016 at 19:28 #1264792LA CRESSONNIERE non runner slight inkury

September 25, 2016 at 20:02 #1264802Terrible news for connections and backers of the filly.
September 25, 2016 at 20:29 #1264809Shame for the backers of La Cressoniere and connections.
Wonder if stable/owner companion Almanzour will switch to the Arc now the filly is out?
Think it’ll be the wrong decision if they do because Almanzour seems to have bags of pace at 10f, Champion Stakes is the best race for him.
New bay may be France’s best chance of keeping the trophy at home this season.Value Is EverythingSeptember 25, 2016 at 20:43 #1264814Shame for the backers of La Cressoniere and connections.

September 25, 2016 at 21:02 #1264816Bummer, I was on La Cressoniere at 14’s, can’t see past Postponed now
Blackbeard to conquer the World
September 25, 2016 at 22:23 #1264824No consolation to anyone who has backed her but hopefully she will retain her ability and they will keep her in training.
Big blow for the race itself because it already didn’t look the best of renewals.
Presumably, the Japanese horse is now second favourite and he looked as if he needed to find a stone improvement on his trial run.
September 26, 2016 at 01:09 #1264832Aiden running order of st George, found and highland reel. It depends what his plans are for the breeders cup as to who runs in the champions stakes. Hopefully minding goes there and found goes to the breeders cup where she must have a cracking chance on the good going.
September 26, 2016 at 06:20 #1264834GT,trainers comments were that Almanzour will not go for the Arc and is still intended to run at Ascot
September 26, 2016 at 11:55 #1264844I have backed NEW BAY 14/1 and SILVERWARE 25/1.
I think Silverware is a huge price considering it won the Prix Foy in a time three seconds faster than the Japanese horse won the Prix Niel the same day and is five times the price.
And New Bay has been aimed at this all year I think and there is only one man that can do that in the Arc and that is Fabre.
September 26, 2016 at 16:54 #1264879rm from this year being very consistent it should be no surprise to anyone if she comes out on top at Chantilly.
Look at the races she was in however. Moore did not cover himself in glory on her last year in the British Champion Stakes against the boys and she was just back from last years Arc where Moore was not that great on her.
Irish Guineas, yeah should have won but I do not recall her wining the earlier group 3 race (on ground she did not like)
Can’t fault her at York this year with big weights, fortunate second in the Irish Champions Stakes last year. Ran well this year.
September 26, 2016 at 17:54 #1264882Had a small e/w on New Bay @ 14’s and laid off some of my found bet @8’s to be green on the race and have a fish & chip supper for 2
September 27, 2016 at 07:55 #1264901I hadn’t made a decision yet but I was sure I would have given a punt on La Cressoniere.
With her out I really want Postponed to win this so he can be talked about as one of the best. The ones that are given time to mature into very classy racehorses at 5 years old are my personal favourites. From 3rd in the craven as a 3 year old to winning the King George last year. I’ll see if I can get a 3/1 on the day, I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a slight drift.
One that catches my eye at 33/1 is Zarak, who has a beautiful pedigree but has the burden of living up to the name of his muvva Zarkava, winner of the French 1000/Oaks and the Arc.
He hasn’t run beyond 10f yet but could be a big improver over 12.
He’s been brushed aside over 8f twice now (French guineas and recently behind Vadamos and Zelzal) but two runs over 10 furlongs have seen him finish 2nd twice now to Irish Champion Almanzor. Might need a bit of rain. -
