The sprinting ranks has been short of a true star act this season. Just when you thought Battaash would be the 5F king and Harry Angel the 6F top dog, they both flopped.
Blue Point has his moments but never seems to find consistency and he was a bitter blow for me when pulled out of the Al Quoz Sprint 30 seconds before the race.
It’s open for a new face I feel and at the odds, I like the idea of Archie Watson’s 2YO Soldiers Call being that new face. Very impressive in the Flying Childers, albeit that the Fav was a flop.
He’ll get weight in France and he looked very fast at Donny. The plan was perhaps a tilt at this and then the Breeder’s Cup.
At 12/1 he looks a better value option than trusting Battaash to find his A-game again.
SOLDIERS CALL 12/1
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
October 2, 2018 at 12:15 #1376174BATTAASH 7/4
Did dissapoint at York but can bounce back here he much the best of these lot and feel should outclass them here
October 3, 2018 at 19:53 #1376296Just want to take Battaash on in this one Darren and think Mabs Cross 8/1 represents a bit of value and none better than Gerald Mosse to get her home.
If Muthmir runs I will be backing him EW also.
My favourite Sprint of the Season
Good luck
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 3, 2018 at 23:35 #1376301Just a speculative each way on FINSBURY SQUARE at 20/1. Ran well at Royal Ascot behind Blue Point and has been placed in this before behind Marsha.
October 4, 2018 at 16:15 #1376343I’m pretty confident that Battaash will bulldozer it again.
I’ll back him on course though.
October 4, 2018 at 17:32 #1376345Good luck there trip in a way be gutted if that horse wins was on it 14/1 in nunthorpe still have odd nightmare how it not win it
October 4, 2018 at 23:06 #1376374Doesn’t look a race to go mad in, and as much as I love these G1 5f Sprints, I rarely get them right……….Hit The Bid supporters, look away now.
Hit The Bid 20’s EW 4 Places
October 4, 2018 at 23:22 #1376375I had just about recovered from the Nunthorpe Darren
and you have to go and remind me!!I will be sick as the proverbial if Mabs Cross wins this
October 5, 2018 at 00:42 #1376388I hear Mabs Cross has had a nose extension since the Nunthorpe Darren & Raymo
and with her new jockey up this lady in red is hot to go.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...October 5, 2018 at 12:14 #1376409Tantheem 8/1
Very impressive winning easily the last twice, and although this is a step up in class i think she is a very good each way bet. Drawn well and with the insane pace likely to be shown here i think she’ll be finishing off well.
October 7, 2018 at 13:36 #1376634Tantheem ew 4 places
October 7, 2018 at 14:28 #1376642Battaash only has to run to form to win easily, but will he run to form? If 11/8 or shorter I’d have opposed him but at around 13/8 imo it’s worth taking a chance. However, one way he could get beat is if they go too fast too soon; quite a few prominent runners in the race. So another main bet is hold up horse City Light @ 15/2 with a saver on Tantheem who’s the improving horse from an in form trainer.
Value Is EverythingOctober 7, 2018 at 14:35 #1376643Battaash has to be taken on at the prices, what with is the tricky part! I’ll take a chance that a Nunthorpe ‘winner’ is over priced at 20’s. Alpha Delphini for me, trainer sure knows how to win this after all.
Good luck all.
October 7, 2018 at 14:53 #1376650City Light for me, but only to win
October 7, 2018 at 16:34 #1376685Wd Triptych. Great shout.
