I notice in the post race interviews following Prince De Beauchene’s victory at Leopardstown on Sunday it was mentioned that he wasn’t qualified for Cheltenham.
Why is that? The entry conditions state that one of the methods of qualification is "for five yrs old and upwards which, since November 30th, 2012,
and before February 24th, 2015, have been placed FIRST OR
SECOND ON TWO OCCASIONS in a hunters’ steeple chase in Great
Britain or Ireland".Prince De Beauchene has now won two Hunter Chases, at Thurles and Leopardstown (both prior to the 24th Feb deadline) so why is he not qualified to run at Cheltenham?

41.5.3 no horse may be entered for or start in a race if
41.5.3.4 after September 30th, 2013 it has been placed first, second or third in a Grade 1
or Grade 2 steeple chase in Great Britain or Ireland or in any other steeple chase run
outside Great Britain or Ireland which in the opinion of the Authority is the equivalent of a
Grade 1 or Grade 2 steeple chase. - AuthorPosts
