For years now, a few weeks into the flat season following a particularly bad run, I’ve promised myself that "next year I’ll give the start of the flat a big miss". Of course, those self-promises have quickly been forgotten about and the annual cycle continues. However, this year I’ve remembered the past pain and am holding back, I hope.
Am I just being whimpish or do any other members show caution at this time of the year and are there particular races/courses that you avoid at all costs? With Newmarket on the agenda this week the temptations are great but would I be better holding fire for a few weeks? Your advice/experience will be appreciated please.
Thanks
Ken
