Prior to running at Brighton on the 18th of August, they had worked Valid Point over 2 miles in the morning. Is that clever or cheating?
Unless you KNOW this for a fact, which is unlikely as you wouldn’t mention it in the first place, this probably isn’t the wisest thing to say on a public forum.
September 29, 2009 at 00:05 #250720What do you class as fact Smithy? Seeing it with my own eyes, or being told by someone that works in the yard?
September 29, 2009 at 00:07 #250722I don’t know what Smithy would class as fact, but my definition of fact would be something that is true that I can prove.

One key point is that there was a 7 month gap between the 15l defeat and the run off 45. That from January to August when a horse is aged 3 covers a significant period of a horse’s development.

They don’t improve 30lbs in 7 months Rob.

Oh yes they do, particularly at 3 and they certainly don’t have to be with Mark Prescott to do that either.
Conduit improved his rating by 33lbs in the space of three months in 2008, 79 to 112.
Sirvino improved from 65 to 101 in three months this season.

September 29, 2009 at 00:57 #250735The horses ratings went up by 30lbs. Horses improving by 30lbs are a different matter.
I may have been too quick (and wrong) to state that a horse can’t improve by 30lbs.
Personally I believe the horse had more ability than it showed in it’s maidens.

And allegations that can’t be proved can sometimes lead to courts for flouting the defamation laws.
October 1, 2009 at 16:18 #251073I no that this is slightly off topic but is Sir MArk a confirmed bachelor?
