A potentially strong lineup in which mullins will be wanting to know a bit more of the pecking order, its a shame sayar is still sidelined as he would be my pick here, hoping he makes an appearence before the supreme to shorten him up
Real steel was impressive on debut but im not sure id be taking 2/1 in this, hoping he can run a decent race atleast as would be a positive for my supreme book, hes the most likely of the mullins brigade here i think
Sharjah, won a silly race LTO where they crawled and sprinted, not sure what he is atm and i dont think this race will be run how his last run, on ratings hes in with every chance here, i think 7/1 is a decent price on him if you fancy his chances
WHiskey sour another who could be anything, off his flat rating he should be capable of a really nice hurdles rating, but has to transfer the abillity, @20/1 he will be my e/w angle in the race
Le richebourg was a tad disappointing last time and i think hes a summer horse, but he should come on for that run, but finding over 20lengths with an eased mengli khan should surely be too much
Makitorix i cant have after last time, and hardline is likely thrown in to go off infront
Mengli khan should win this, and im
Happy to take 6/5 about him, hes not been fully tested yet and hes beaten some noce horses in behind, hoping they plunge on real steel tomorrow and i can get better than 6/5 but happy with that atmMengli khan 6/5
Whiskey sour 20/1 e/wDecember 26, 2017 at 18:39 #1334153A bit surprised to see Mengli Khan go odds against. Won a grade 1 nicely last time out. Taken 5/4 with PP and think I’ll double up with Polidam as well.
December 27, 2017 at 06:46 #1334246Really looking forward to this card in Ireland today and the ITV racing.
For my trebles across the card, Mengli Khan looks a very good price. He looks like an ofds in shot to me. Real Steel is crazily short based on a win against very little. Whereas MK beat some very decent animals easily last time and that form is a million times better than this lot. 6/5 is a nice price indeed. I haven’t had a bet as a single on the race though.
Mengli Khan @ 6/5

Whiskey sour 20/1 e/wMK out to 6/4,
have lumped on, will be watching closely for another drift!December 27, 2017 at 13:37 #1334308I think you’re a brave punter to get heavily involved in this with the amount of unexposed types in here.
For sure Mengli deserves to be favourite but for all I know one of these Mullins types could be the next Douvan.
This isn’t a race I have a strong opinion on, all I’ve had is a flyaway couple of quid each-way on Makitorix at 33/1 for interest.
Best of luck with the favourite guys, if he tussling it out with Real Steel at the end I’ll be cheering the Khan on for you.

I follow the form and calculate a price that suits, if it hits the price i back it, mengli khan should be odds on for this and he probably will in some places, 6/4 about a grade 1 winner running against maiden winners whom recieved weight FTO is a huge step up, they need to improve somehwere in the region of 20lbs, thats not to say they wont, but gor every 100 runners mullins has, 1 will probably make that step, theres always the chance MK could underperform, but as of now, hes virtually running to a rating that would have challenged in last seasons supreme, and so far this one does not look any better, atleast at this stage anyway
But nontheless you are correct, there is always the chance the unknown is in here, but @ 6/4 MK im happy to take the chance with a small saver on whiskey sour
December 27, 2017 at 13:50 #1334314That’s more than fair enough Ham. It’s just not a ‘proper bet’ race for me.
Nonetheless, this race could well decide the Supreme here and now.
December 27, 2017 at 13:56 #1334315Wow that just won the award for the most eventful race of the season
December 27, 2017 at 13:56 #1334316What on earth?
You had your winner Ham but I bet you never saw it coming.
One things for sure, we can start hammering into Sharjah for the Supreme. Didn’t he look good before that fall?

Never seen the race my live stream decided to crash 4 out, someone fill me in lol
December 27, 2017 at 14:00 #1334318Even before Mengli Khan jumped through the wings 2 out I thought Sharjah was going to be a big danger to him as he travelled so well.
At the last Sharjah just half came up when asked and you could see how sick P Mullins was when he got up and threw his whip down.
December 27, 2017 at 14:01 #1334320ive never seen the likes of that
December 27, 2017 at 14:04 #1334321Sharjah looks to be a serious horse, real steel looks decent too. Ted Walsh is right in saying he’d be very worried about mengli khan after doing what he did.

So the winner Whiskey Sour was at the back and not seemingly able to go the pace, Reel Steel was handy but suddenly dropped way back as they went down the back – he and the winner closed back up as Mengli Khan went on three or four out then coming to the second last Mengli Khan went and crashed out through the wing of the hurdle.
In the meantime Real Steel had come on the outside to take it up but was already being hard ridden whilst Sharjah cruised upside with P Mullins motionless and then at the last they were side by side and both asked up and capsized on landing enabling Whiskey Sour to take the win by a distance.
December 27, 2017 at 14:27 #1334329Curious race even before the run-out and the falls; why did Real Steel drop back so suddenly mid-race?
December 27, 2017 at 14:41 #1334332Thanks ld
Got the replay there
Crazy, what theew mengli khan off? Alot of fence around that area ? Couldnt see anything else ?
I wouldnt write him off he probably would have been the likely winner i feel even at that point, sharjah looked menacing but it was to early to tell if they wouldnt have gotten near MK
Crazy race

Indeed, that’s probably why you couldn’t see him win a Supreme. I’d imagine Sharjah will head to that with Real Steal and the winner headed for the Ballymore.
And what’s going on with Makitorix, ran like he broke a blood vessel or has an underlying issue.
Weird.
