Paddy Power would knock you back for more than a tenner (or maybe a score if you were a regular FOBT customer).
I popped into my local PP this morning and asked the manager how much I could have on the trial. She replied that the PTL (permission to lay) limit for all novelty bets is £25; anything over that has to be phoned through prior to acceptance.
It’d take a hell of a lot of runners to get a decent bet on.
March 6, 2014 at 18:48 #470239NOT Guilty verdict has never been Odds-on.Paddy Power went 1/4 Guilty,5/2 Not Guilty. Anyone taking 5/2 about what should be a 100/1 needs their heads testing.

They did initially advertise 2/5 Not Guilty, 7/4 Guilty as is reported in this piece from the Indy:

Like TYF, I also later saw Not Guilty at 10/11.

Apologies TYF if that is the case.Incredible that the advert offered 7/4 Guilty and 2/5 Not Guilty and yet less than 24hrs later not through heavy market support the odds are completely reversed to 1/4 Guilty and 5/2 Not Guilty!
Like I’ve said before I wouldn’t take 100/1 about a Not Guilty verdict,Pistorius is a cold blooded Killer and thats a fact!March 6, 2014 at 22:13 #470265Latest odds just in:-

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
March 6, 2014 at 22:14 #470266Snuff bets are a burgeoning market. Plenty of takers here.

I wonder if they’ll get Pistorius to drop his trousers to reveal some green y-fronts after he’s been sentenced?

No market for Cheltenham deaths? Or just knowing what side the bread is buttered.
March 7, 2014 at 09:30 #470289Bankers were not always society’s pariahs, they were once it’s pillars as the elders will recall.
Yep – "permission to speak Captain Mainwaring"
Do Investment Banks still employ a lot of Merchant Bankers?

I think they all operate under the former name these days.
March 29, 2014 at 13:22 #473620I see that PP have gone for more cheap publicity today.
For those who don’t follow football, Manchester United supporters hired a plane to fly over their ground today, trailing a banner expressing the fans’ dissatisfaction with their current manager. PP, having no original ideas of their own, then hired another plane to fly over the ground advertising their latest odds.
Pathetic.
March 29, 2014 at 14:16 #473624From what I heard most people didn’t see the plane today or just ignored it
