Oh. Oh well.
Just one bet today, in the Cork National- without Racing Pulse as it seems to be assumed by the market that he is Total Recall #2
Cork 3.15 Arkwrisht 5-1 w/o fav 1pt win
-4.8
November 5, 2017 at 12:47 #1325289I’ve got Ultragold in my Grand National “Book”, but really need him to show more for me to get my hopes up. I just wonder if The Topham will be on the cards again, he’ll certainly be weighted to go well.
I might not get 80’s though lol
November 11, 2017 at 13:33 #1326329Prep race today for Hennessy for NJH horse that I think might have a decent season. Not going to be fully tuned up today but I’ve backed him anyway as on an ok mark
1.40 Aintree Vyta du Roc 1pt win 7-1
November 12, 2017 at 16:53 #1326506What did you think of Vyta yesterday, he still looks very big at 33’s for Newbury. Surely that Aintree run will put him spot on.
November 12, 2017 at 23:49 #1326567Would’ve liked him to be a bit closer but Jacob did say beforehand that he wasn’t fully tuned up- I should have listened! Also didn’t hurdle really slickly but hoping he jumps better, and also gets in…his mark is the low end of the range that got in last year.
Been quiet for me, after this losing bet I didn’t have any more this weekend as I would’ve just been casting around in boredom for any old thing to stick money on…my decision making has deserted me.
So I kept my itchy fingers busy by sticking a few pounds on long range bets at big prices, including an EW Vyta/Whisper Ladbrokes/Gold Cup double. I like little Whisper and it’s possible he could run into a place in March if not all the bigger flashier horses make it. Of course he is smaller ( and older than most of the others) without the massive scope, huge engine and wow factor that the likes of Might Bite and Thistlecrack and perhaps Yorkhill have. He’s a game wee thing though and I have a soft spot for that sort. Hoping for a decent showing tomorrow and glad that Russell is coming over to ride him.
These long range bets are probably as ill thought out as my short range boredom bets but at least I get the fun out of them for a bit longer
November 15, 2017 at 23:00 #1326907Well Whisper did the business Grass, and I think he’s a cert to win at least another this year. That’s the beauty of the longer range bets I reckon, hard to pull off, but certainly keeps the interest up. Good luck with those EW Doubles, that’s my kind of betting for sure.
Was disappointed not to see Ultragold in The Becher entries, so increasingly thinking “Topham” now rather than the big one.
November 17, 2017 at 12:30 #1327080Sitting on -6.8 now and probably drop a bit more today as bored.
12.40 Chel Sugar Baron 0.5pt win 6-1
November 17, 2017 at 13:00 #1327084Was hoping a bit more use would be made of him as he stays but never mind.

3.30 Vision des Flos 1.45 pt winNovember 17, 2017 at 15:45 #1327116Sitting on -5 after an entertaining day and made small inroads into my deficit with two EW returns. Roll on tomorrow and good luck over the weekend everyone
November 19, 2017 at 00:52 #1327540Sat on my hands Saturday and just as well I did as everything I would have backed lost. Ready to have another go now though. No shame in getting beaten by a race-fit Bamako Moriviere so:
Punchestown
1.05 Tombstone 3pts win 11/8
1.40 Jury Duty 1pt win 6/1November 19, 2017 at 13:47 #1327607Nice win there Grass, well done.
November 19, 2017 at 13:53 #1327608Thanks VtC, shoulda had the stakes the other way round!
Back up to -2 now.
November 25, 2017 at 02:09 #1328429Lots of fun to be had tomorrow but I’m working
Chucked a pound win only on San Benedeto, Top Notch, Clan des Obeauxall at 3s and Outlander at 5s to add to my pound EW on The Dutchman at 14s.Others I’m looking forward to are Carter McKay, Sharjah, L’ami Serge, Lough Derg Farmer and Robinsfirth so I spent another couple of quid on accas- if they all win I can resign and watch the weekend racing in peace

Hoping Min can get me some points in the TTF too
