Place-betting-pool?

    While the odds on a horse to win are always visible before the race, the odds on ‘place’ are just shown after the race (apart of Betfair etc).
    As far as I know the place-odd is generated by the place-betting-pool which is independent from the win-betting-pool.
    If you watch US-racing, they show the place betting pool before the race. But I have never seen it in UK racing. Also never seen it on French, German or South African racing broadcasts.
    Do you know where to find the place-betting-pool?
