So far, after 14 races Pipe’s Festival form figures are:

    0 5 3 U 0 P 6 P 0 P P 0 B 0 0 0 0 0

Surely no Pipe horses can possibly be entertained at the moment – Basiliea Star has got to be taken on in the four-miler.

Tango Royal into 33s from 50s with Hills, and 25s from 40s with Totalbet, for the 4.00…..

Bannow Strand runs shocker, as do his other runners.

    something has to be amiss

Thank you Tanya for that earthshattering market mover report.

    Make it: 0 5 3 U 0 P 6 P 0 P P 0 B 0 0 0 0 0 0 5 0 0 P

Virus perhaps? Our Vic and Bannow Strand in particular stopped as if shot.

Big of Pipe to admit in that RUK interview that he’s out of form (he looks seriously poorly as well) – watch Basilea Star hose up by thirty lengths now!!!

No. I said in the chat room last night that I don’t think he’s an easy ride for an amateur and with the way the stable’s horses have run today I couldn’t have him at any price.

Though the way I’m going he’ll scoot in now.

Celestial Gold will probably be a big drifter for the Gold Cup now.
He is numerically well down on any season I recall.
It is certainly more than a short-term problem.

If you take a look at his site Reet Hard his method of recruiting horses seems to be to claim 4 or 5 in the claiming hurdles in France, bring them over and then sell them on.

Talking of Pipe, ventured into a bookies for the first tim in a while today (Billy’s) only to hear the pre racing talk going on about the Pipe banker being Our Vic and they were ‘generously’ offering the biggest price anywhere.

    Yeah right !!

Out of form or not though he hasn’t gone through a festival without at least 1 winner since ’89 so it wouldn’t surprise to see one of his pop up at long odds tomorrow.

I seem to remember Pipe being called to the stewards at the Tripleprint meeting re the performance of his horses.

Does anyone have any information on what the result of that visit was, and also is there any possibility of him being required to pay them another anti-social call tomorrow if this continues?

The form of F Doumen surely has to be a worry for backers of Kasbah Bliss and L’Ami.

Moulin Riche & Ouste both failed to finish.

Millenium Royal & Blue Canyon were beaten miles, although little realistic chance anyway. Baracouda was not disgraced, but didn’t see out his race particularly well.
True to an extent, many of his lesser lights are bought off the peg this way.
However the Johnson owned better horses tend to be expensive purchases from Ireland.

No justification for that at all.
Murphy has ridden with great success for David Johnson when the horses have been going.Name a race when Murphy has let connections down.
There were reportedly teething problems with Pipe who wanted the horses more aggressively ridden but then there appear to be many who hanker for the halycon days of "AP" whipping Pipey’s selling platers off the front (visit the Martin Pipe website and you’ll see what I mean).
In a worse case scenario, I’m sure Murphy’s patient style would find a home with Hen Knight and others.
