Pillaging Pict has been a favourite of mine for years, and it was great to see the old boy show pace and his customary jumping ability to win at Newcastle today.

I was pleased to see him win too. Seem to remember him running creditably in a couple of novice chases that Barton contested some years back

Can’t disagree with any of the above. I’m always happy for the Waltons when they land a contest, as they just seem to epitomise a lot of what I like about jumps racing – long-established family concerns, mostly breeding their own horses from generation upon generation of racemare, and doing it all on their own, permit-holding terms.

It was grand when Mighty Mark turned out to be such a terrific sort nigh on twenty years ago, and in more fantastical moments I think that Garden Feature would win them a Foxhunters or Intrum Justitia one day if only he could improve his all-round game a bit more.

Can’t disagree with you either Waltons have been there as long as I can remember great supporters of the sport and lovely people.

Nothing better than following a few non superstar horses and having them as one of your favourites…….Mines were Tepylon, Coudwalker, Aristo Treat and Keelby Cavalier all ridden by, my then best friend, the late, Tony Charlton……the fun we had with those horses will never be reapeated or equalled for me.
