    Piamontini, a 5yo bay gelding by Alhaarth out of Actualite, sadly had to be put down after breaking a leg in the opening novices’ hurdle at Wincanton yesterday.

    A 145,000gns yearling, Piamontini was taking part in his fourth race, the best performance of which had been when 2 1/4l third to Oberon Moon in a Cheltenham bumper last October.

    RIP Piamontini.
