So there was a link on facebook saying the answers were now up . . is it just me?
September 10, 2010 at 13:29 #316902Well I’ve only read the answers to my own questions and you’ve got to be disappointed, amateurish imo.
Anyone with 2 minutes racing knowledge and an eye in their head who had watched all 3 Yurtuni runs before the Ebor nursery would know the horse had never been asked for maximum effort in her maidens. The trainer admitted a plot after the win at York. To justify the mark awarded to a horse clearly campaigned to conceal its ability as "greenness" is incredible. To congratulate yourself for producing a close finish to a 14lb improver who was previously never sighted really takes the biscuit. You mentioned a 12/1 starting price. You might want to check the morning prices.
Taking literal interpretation’s of Curley, Culhane etc racecourse form is again incredible. All common sense out the window as long as we’re percieved to be fair. Reminds me of a scene at an x-ray machine I witnessed at Heathrow recently. A sick old man probably in his eighties being dragged by his arms and legs under the scanner because they wouldn’t let him through in his wheelchair. Some fundamentalist teenage clown with a beard attempts to smuggle liquid explosive onto an airplane, next thing their dragging sick pensioners through security. Its called PROFILING, Phil.
Barney Curley’s drifter found with tranquillizer metabolite after pulling up, can go out, pull up again on its next run and then everything’s ok. Well thats just shite, Phil.
You never answered my question about how you perceive you role in relation to the maintenance of integrity in horseracing.
Once again sincere thanks for taking the time, very much appreciated. Your answers (to my questions at least) give me little confidence, I’m more with Henry after reading them.

Would that profiling extend to other handicap specialists such as Nicholls (give his runners additional weight in sprint h’caps), Prescott, Cumani, etc? Trainers who, like Curley, are adept at laying one out for a particular race?
Are you, in effect, suggesting a horse’s rating incorporate a correction factor based on the trainer and/or jockey?
