After all those racing fans labelling Peter Bowen as a cheat, he can now laugh at them.
Having now won the Summer Place 4 out of 6 years, Snoopy Loopy once made Peter Bowen win the main chase of the Market Rasen season.
Last Year, Bowen drugged 3 horses. But now, Bowen has shown that he can make his horses win without using them and i fully congratulate him of his victory and i wish him the best for this Jumps Season!
Though, i wanted Yes Sir to win:lol:
July 19, 2008 at 16:53 #173815Last Year, Bowen drugged 3 horses and was banned from racing for some time…..
Should we be congratulating Dwain Chambers next?
July 19, 2008 at 16:55 #173816Im just respecting Peter in the way he is being known for winners and not for using drugs!
July 19, 2008 at 17:07 #173818Bowen wasn’t banned at all from racing, though a number of his horses did test positive for banned substances, including Yes Sir when he won the Future Stars Novice Chae at Ayr in spring 2007.
July 19, 2008 at 17:15 #173819Sorry Davey J thought he did ha
July 19, 2008 at 17:16 #173820Once a cheat always a cheat, the off-season can be a particularly long one at times TheOneAndOnlyTonyMcCoy – only needs to register a horse as being "out of training" etc. and well you know the rest.
Personally don’t think the drugs were ever administered deliberately to enhance performance, totally different situation to that of Dutrow, Biancone, Chambers, Ricco, Piepoli etc.
July 19, 2008 at 17:27 #173823He had quite a hefty fine, and I think all his runners are tested now.
The initial few were put down to using a cattle wormer. The second batch of test failings were a different drug, and the source was never identified.July 19, 2008 at 20:21 #173839He was fined a grand and all his horses put on 12 month ‘routine testing’ because he could offer no explanation why Contact Dancer tested positive for the stimulant pemoline, nor could the source be identified.
That of course does not necessarily mean he was guilty of cheating, hence the small fine.
He was cleared in the three cases of a positive test for the ‘wormer’ metabolite.
July 19, 2008 at 21:28 #173849He was fined £1000 twice.

July 19, 2008 at 22:20 #173865Thanks for the correction and links Cheekster

your testing for the wrong drugs try the lungs direct as venterline inhalers are banned and also look into who owns what
August 27, 2010 at 14:24 #314849Farrier suggested…..also look into who owns what
What what, Farrier? Are you hinting at blind ownership? Surely not?
August 27, 2010 at 15:07 #314856What a complete load of bollocks you are talking. I can assure you that Bowen is one of the most honest trainers and people I have known in my life. Ask the authorities and they will confirm he is 100% honest. Something not many people in life can claim
