Looks like the books were spot on
Humphries took out a 132 to get back to 2-2 and hasn’t looked back as of yet 7-2 upCharles Darwin to conquer the World
May 23, 2024 at 21:50 #1695322Wins Premier League on debut with a nine dart finish in the final.
I suppose it wasn’t too much too soon for him after all!
May 23, 2024 at 22:26 #1695327Some achievement that for a lad of his age. If he keeps his feet on the ground can will go a helluva long way
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
May 24, 2024 at 08:59 #1695348Yes he’s certainly shut us up!
The six legs from 5-5 that he won were in 9, 14, 12, 12, 13 and 15 darts. Unless your opponent is hitting 9s and 12s he’s got no chance whoever he is. Humphries has clearly been the best player out there for not far off a year now and even he couldn’t live with it. Pleased to see him be so gracious, the way it should be.
May 24, 2024 at 23:52 #1695451I don’t know if it’s true but I read that pints of Budweiser and Stella were £8.95 last night, I hope nobody from Cheltenham was there getting ideas.

August 13, 2024 at 17:29 #1704565A great shame when anyone decides to cheat but especially so when they have the potential to legitimately make a good living from the sport. Innocent until proven guilty of course but they must think they have a solid case to make it public at this stage.
August 13, 2024 at 18:06 #1704567I found this on X which sheds a bit more light.
Bennett is on 164 with his opponent on no finish. He hits treble 20, treble 18 to leave the bull.
I am not sure what to make of what happened next. He hits single 3 to leave 47.
If he was going for the bull, he missed it by a huge distance. If he was trying to switch given his opponent was on no finish, it would only make sense to go for 10 or 18, neither of which are anywhere near 3. All the numbers around 3 are odd, which would not leave him on a one dart finish.
On his next visit, he only just hits 15 to leave double 16. He then misses the board with his next dart (like a non dart player on “Bullseye”) and gets nowhere near a double with his subsequent darts.
It looks odd and suspicious betting patterns makes it look terrible.
Such a shame if the lad has been up to no good. I hope he hasn’t been forced into anything.
August 13, 2024 at 19:35 #1704573That really doesn’t look good, especially the three. Any one of those other missed darts in isolation happens, even to the best, but that many in a row? A half decent pub player would land something nearer than those given that many attempts. I think even I would.
I don’t watch this stuff but it does seem a bit like the darts equivalent of the BAGS dog racing. Unfortunately if you put that much bookie fodder on, there are those who will try to take advantage.
October 13, 2024 at 00:01 #1709759If you didn’t see this evening’s semi final between Humphries and Joyce then I recommend you find a replay. An absolute demolition job, some of the finest darts you will ever see. Even by the high standards Humphries has set over the last year that was pretty special.
Joyce didn’t actually do a lot wrong and would probably have beaten most playing like that.
