On form its a two horse race with the rest out the back
a bit like a Gaelic Warrior/Fact to File John Durkan…
The format favours the pair of them

You can still get the kebab muncher at 1/1 with Victor
or Humphries at 9/2 with Paddy

or you can split the price and name the finalists

    10/3 Luke Littler/Luke Humphries finalists

Charles Darwin to conquer the World

I know there’s no such thing as a bad draw for Littler but I don’t think he could have asked for much better. Humphries has the bigger dangers like van Veen and Rock. I’d love to see van Gerwen improve, there have been signs of it but we may never see him back to his brilliant best.

Looking forward to seeing a 71 year old Paul Lim, great to see him still going strong.

I expect Littler to win but at the prices I will probably back Humphries.

It will be interesting to see how Beau Greaves gets on. No disrespect to Fallon Sherrock but I believe Greaves is a far better player.

She is not going to win but it wouldn’t be the greatest surprise to see her match or even surpass what Sherrock did a few years ago.

Greaves has huge potential. She has won a tour card so she will only improve for the regular experience against the very best. Unlucky not to get out of the group at the Grand Slam, two deciding leg losses against van Gerwen and Anderson who, whilst they aren’t at the peak of their powers, are still top level players.

It would not be a surprise to see her as an established top 32 or 16 player before too long.

Thrown a tenner at Humphries. Littler will probably win – we are talking about a generational talent – but I don’t think the price difference should be quite so large.

He’s one of the few capable of living with Littler over the longest matches, as long as he plays to his best or very close to it. There’s no substitute for experience.

It’s unlikely of course but if anything Littler might be more vulnerable over the shorter distances.

Huybrechts was terrible. He scored 11 with 3 darts on one particular visit. :negative:

Lim has still got it. Hit a couple of 180s and a lot of 140s with a two dart 100 checkout as well. In the winning set he had a 12 darter that could have been 11. The crowd clearly got to de Graaf a bit but Lim took his chances and fair play to him. Not the highest standard but great to watch all the same.

Oh dear, not a great performance from Cameron Menzies after his loss this afternoon. He unleashed a series of uppercuts onto his drinks table.

It’s a shame because he seems like a nice guy but clearly has a lot of trouble with his emotions. There’s no excuse for petulant actions like that but I hope he gets some support if something is going on in the background.

Cameron Menzies didn’t emerge with much credit this afternoon..

Edit – posted at the same time as Richard!

    Great minds…

He has released a statement saying that his uncle recently died. It appears that they were close. It’s very sad but unfortunately you do have to get on with the day job whether that’s sitting in an office or playing darts. At least it provides a bit more background.

I read that. He has also apologised and seems genuinely contrite.

However, while not wanting to sound unsympathetic, it was not very impressive behaviour for an adult. It was also highly disrespectful to his opponent.

It looks like he could do with seeking some help. I expect his bank balance might be a bit lighter as well by the time the PDC has finished.

Yes it is a shame for Manby who played well and had by far the biggest win of his life to have it overshadowed but he seemed to handle it as well as he could. The commentators said it was only his second match on television.

There are plenty of players like him in their early to mid 20s who are very capable. With the rise of Littler it’s easy to forget that they are still very young in darts terms!

Absolutely extraordinary stuff this afternoon. I’d like to have been on David Munyua at 2-0 down! I imagine he was a double figure price before a dart was thrown. Great win for Sakai as well, he’d have been the story of the afternoon until the last match.

If Ryan Joyce could up his scoring power he’d be very dangerous. Lethal on the doubles.

It was a great win by Munyua but it has to be said De Decker threw it away.
