What kind of journalist pens an article about Andre Fabre’s promising colt Persian King, explaining the trainer’s excitement about his future, which future races he may contest, only to make a schoolboy error in telling the world that he is a son of FRANKEL?
Persian King is by KINGMAN
Who the hell are they employing? Readers deserve to at least get facts and not errors.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 18, 2018 at 13:51 #1375280Have you emailed them Steve, i have done this regarding a few errors and also for the ATR stable stars where they haven’t included horses and they’ve fixed it fairly quick.
Regardless, fairly poor stuff from them, do they proofread i wonder?! Maybe, their proofreaders presume the Sires etc. will be correct.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!September 18, 2018 at 14:14 #1375285Same article or thereabouts published in the sporting life website but saying Kingman
Perhaps Jeremy Kyle could get a DNA test done
The Dams name gives the game away. Frankel said ‘no, you been with that Kingman’ but she said ‘Pretty Please’

September 18, 2018 at 15:39 #1375288Jack, I have emailed ATR loads of times and they never reply, nor do they fix the errors. I’ve given up on them.
Even if they are just cutting and pasting articles they should be savvy enough to know that sire was incorrect.
Maybe I am expecting too much for people working in the industry to educate themselves about the important information.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
September 18, 2018 at 16:18 #1375291At Chantilly on Saturday:
The Kingman sired Persian King won the 1 mile two year old colts and geldings conditions race for Andre Fabre and ridden by Pierre-Charles Boudot.
At the same racecourse two races later…
The Frankel filly Suphala won the 1 mile two year old fillies conditions race for Andre Fabre and Pierre-Charles Boudot.
So the same trainer and jockey won two very similarly named races on the same day on the same card over the same trip sired by different sires from the same stud.
It’s unfortunate, but I can see how anyone writing the meeting up may have made the mistake if tight for time.
We all make mistakes.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 19, 2018 at 05:40 #1375318Gingertipster, I think you should ask yourself if you would have made that post if the original poster was someone other than Steve Caution.

September 19, 2018 at 08:42 #1375321Eh?
tbh Thought I was being generous in my carefully worded response.Yes Colin, I definitely would have made that post; always respond when I think someone is recieving far too harsh criticism – no matter who it is from or who is recieving it. But you’re right in one way – had the OP been anyone else I would have added a little criticism of the OP’s harsh words – as it was I tried to keep to the facts.
Seabird, I think you should ask yourself whether you would’ve asked that question had my post been from anyone else?
Value Is EverythingSeptember 19, 2018 at 09:36 #1375322Are you being totally honest with yourself, with the answer you’ve given?
To answer your question – the answer is a rather obvious no it was because you made that post that I asked you the question. I think that is quite simple and your question seems rather ridiculous.
Colin
September 19, 2018 at 14:13 #1375334Yes totally honest, Seabird.
My point was if my words in the post above would’ve come from anyone else I very much doubt you’d have found anything wrong with it. Don’t see how that “seems rather ridiculous”, but not going to fall out with you about it.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 19, 2018 at 15:11 #1375336Ho hum……think you’re missing something, Ginge.
But I don’t want to fall out with anyone either.

September 19, 2018 at 15:37 #1375338I would agree, however, i would say, it is free… if they were to put a price on reading such articles because of minor errors like so, most people would quickly refute there complaint. Id be one of them.
September 19, 2018 at 16:10 #1375339Good point ham, if everything were checked it would add to cost.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 19, 2018 at 16:15 #1375340well if they got my dad wrong I wouldn’t call it a minor error
September 19, 2018 at 16:19 #1375341I doubt Persian King can read.
Value Is EverythingSeptember 19, 2018 at 16:22 #1375342nor can i
September 19, 2018 at 16:44 #1375344Wouldn’t hurt if the Racing Post did get your dad wrong then.
Hang on, if you can’t read how come you’re writing posts? LOL
Value Is EverythingSeptember 19, 2018 at 16:52 #1375345Id say in the grand scheme of things to get wrong in this game nwalton, writing son of frankel instead of son of kingman about a generally unknown 2yo (to most), is pretty minor, if it was a paid service like the RP and they got these wrong regularly id totally see the point
But ATR is free, from there articles, speed figure analysis, to there decent tips from certain people, not to mention the channel is free… for me its better than the rp in most areas that i require
If it were to continue to be free and those were the errors they made, id be happy IMO

Maybe someone should tell kingman sonhe can go on strike…
