Just wondering – is there a site which lists the winners from past big races – such as the Cheltenham Festival?
February 11, 2008 at 22:03 #142392Hi Ten Plus – welcome to the forum
Try the Racing Post site, every result since 1988, you have to register but it’s free.

Pretty good for past winners of most major races.
February 11, 2008 at 22:18 #142397Thanks for your replies (and welcome!). I’ve tried Racing Post via advanced search but it wouldn’t "pick up" on Queen Mother Champion Chase for example … I’ll give the other suggestion a go.
February 11, 2008 at 22:23 #142398The races at Cheltenham which have already closed for entries are on the RP website, and at the bottom of the list is always a 10-year history of that race. Wikipedia also has histories going back as far as you like for the biggest races, such as the QM & the GC.
And welcome to the forum!
February 11, 2008 at 22:29 #142402Found out what I wanted to know from Sporting Chronicle site – many thanks!

February 12, 2008 at 06:27 #142463You could do it the easy way and just type the race name into Google, add "wiki" or "wikipedia" at the end of that text and search.
February 12, 2008 at 09:54 #142499I know you’ve already found what you wanted but just in case you or other members are not aware of this interesting site – British Irish Horse Racing Fans on MSN Group, I’m posting a link to it here.
This page specifically details the Queen Mother Champion Chase ’75-’89. What I like about it is that is gives you the ‘also rans’ in most races. It’s quite comprehensive and goes way back to the 50’s.
or this one for example:-
