Only 27; really hope she makes a full recovery. Shows yet again the dangers of being a jump jockey
October 4, 2022 at 19:27 #1617397I saw the race and naturally assumed something had gone wrong with the horse when she pulled up. Then after the race it became clear the issue was with the jockey when the medical team were attending to her.
I do hope she will be OK. She sounds positive anyway. Wishing her a full recovery.
October 4, 2022 at 20:24 #1617408Talented jockey, IMO, good tactically and decent at presenting horses at their obstacles.
She was good value for her claim as a conditional but, like so many, has found life harder since losing it.
She also looks to me like one of those jockeys who falls between two stools – too heavy for the Flat (though that might not have interested her anyway given her Point-to-Point background) but possibly one of the lightest Jump jockeys in the weighing room?
Not an advantage if riding one with 11st12lb (all that dead weight lead) in a driving finish on Heavy ground in deepest winter, I’d imagine.
Goes without saying I wish her a speedy and full recovery.
