Protektorat so far has won races with field sizes 7,4,8 and 6. Will be interesting to see how he gets on now in a big field.
November 12, 2021 at 21:06 #1567288I do not like the front three.
Al Dancer has been well fancied for lots of races but has seldom delivered. The sort of horse the bookies love.
Protektorat is a class act but has the huge negative of Harry Skelton around Cheltenham.
Lalor is the most intriguing switched to Nicholls. He would clearly have a great chance on his best form but it was a long time ago and he is a very short price for a horse with more letters than numbers in his recent form. And Nicholls has now gone a year without a winner at Cheltenham.
I might have a bit each way on Zanza stepped up in distance and I am a little surprised to see Manofthemountain at such a big price.
November 12, 2021 at 21:31 #1567291I’m of the same thought Cork regarding lalor and Al Dancer , loved Lalor as a novice but he looked very laboured last season , plenty think Nicholls will reignite the spark but to be honest I don’t think that’s his game , he did nothing with the ex Mullins horses he got last year , as regards to Al Dancer he,s like Singlefarmpayment , always talked about and money about at short prices but then rarely delivers
November 12, 2021 at 21:32 #1567292I’ve caved and added Dostal Phil at 18/1. I think he’s well handicapped and 2 and a half miles on good ground should be his ideal conditions.
Al Dancer 22/1 e/w
Dostal Phil 18/1 e/wNovember 13, 2021 at 08:13 #1567332Lahor
Will have come on a bundle.November 13, 2021 at 08:34 #1567336Midnight Shadow and Coole Cody for me. Much sweeter on the former, very satisfactory return run in the Old Roan. Only age puts me off the latter but he’s still fairly lightly raced for a 10 year old and was too big a price for me to ignore him. E/W 7 Places on both. Both perhaps crucially have race fitness which the front 3 are lacking.
Incidentally not that you should let that put you off him necessarily but Protektorat is taking a fairly large walk in the market on the exchange.
November 13, 2021 at 13:40 #1567392Reluctantly adding a third here, and got to have Coole Cody as backup. Was hard watching him win last year, and not being on. Not without a chance again.
Coole Cody 14’s
Manofthemountain 25’s
Midnight Shadow 25’s EWNovember 13, 2021 at 13:40 #1567393Funky Dady at 33/1 might just cause a surprise here. I think that his last run wasn’t the best that he is, and this races does look like the right target. That’s one is ew 6pcs
I’ve trawled for another, and at 22/1, I’ve also taken Up The Straight as win only.
November 13, 2021 at 13:48 #1567400Cases to be made for loads of these but my ews are on Deyrann de Carjac, in the hope he can recapture old form, and good old reliable Spiritofthegames after his pipe opener.
November 13, 2021 at 14:22 #1567406Wd winners
November 13, 2021 at 14:25 #1567407Gutted Coole Cody came down was looking good for the forecast before then, fingers crossed he’s okay
November 13, 2021 at 14:26 #1567408Well done VtC, FF and TinMan, he’s trotting back past the crowd fresh as a daisy. Hope the fallers OK, poor Coole Cody gave it a good go.
November 13, 2021 at 14:35 #1567409Well done Bobby, Tin and FF
Midnight Shadow ran a terrific race and nice to see Protektorat finishing so well at the finish.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 13, 2021 at 14:43 #1567412Delighted with that
1st and 3rd
Well done anyone else who was on
That 25s was a gift of an e/w bet couldnt have him out of the 4
November 13, 2021 at 16:19 #1567433Well done to those who got the winners, some of the usual shrewdies getting that one.
After a good Friday normal Cheltenham service resumed for me! Can someone let me know when mine finish?
November 13, 2021 at 18:02 #1567439Right after the finish I was screaming at Skelton for not getting there but after watching the race a couple more times I just think Protektorat is a screaming for a step up in distance , traveled well but lacked a gear , lalor ran well but isn’t as good as he was , Al Dancer ran a stinker and poor coole cody didn’t deserve the fall , however I think the winner had him
November 13, 2021 at 18:13 #1567442I thought the same about lalor HDLG
Will be keeping an eye on entries hoping they turn up at 3 miles next time
