IMO yes, makes me never want to bet with them again tbhMarch 5, 2011 at 15:59 #343367The one with the woman in the classroom?
I quite like it as it happens. It’s certainly easier on the eye than that bloody Bet365 advert going off like a fruit machine.

Actually, I was talking about the overtly sexual one of the model with the mobile. But the teacher with the cane is again very close to the line. It seems very desperate to be using the sex card to get punters.

They’ve adorned their website’s home page with images of scantily clad women before haven’t they?
Just goes to prove what a morally corrupt organisation they are.

Oh really? I thought that one was quite clearly taking the mickey. It’s not sexist so much as it’s blatant plagiarism. Tesco were running a similar advert campaign last year.
As far as Paddy Power are concerned, I miss those adverts they were running with the man & the woman who were to my eyes, the same person or at least closely related! At least those adverts suggested the idea that women might like a bet on the horses, all the other bookies think a woman’s place is online bingo.
Anyway, Paddy Power shouldn’t be allowed because the name is racist towards the Irish. You wouldn’t be allowed to call a bookies N*****power would you? (That is a genuine quote from an old woman on my bus passing the Manchester branch of Paddy Power the other day)
March 5, 2011 at 18:27 #343392I really cant believe what I am reading!!

Omg what redblooded male doesnt like to see a fit sexy woman or a racey bit of sexual innuendo!!

Sexist, morrally corrupt, haha this forum should be renamed the PC plonkers chat line.

Sex sells, always has, always will. Those of you who do not like it are in the minority.

We need more totty in the game and presenting, ATR should recruit some of the SSN female presenters!!

As for paddypower, I like their style!!
March 5, 2011 at 18:56 #343394As long as they don’t put that ghastly lettering on Cleeve Hill again, they can do what they like.
Must admit, she’s quite fit…
March 5, 2011 at 21:25 #343409Found the sign on Cleeve Hill quite amusing last year. Couldn’t see what all the fuss was about.
And as for the ‘classroom’ ad, I can only wish some of my teachers had looked like that….
More power to PP…

Well said, Fitz.
As Creed wrote in their song ‘Signs’ (not one of their best):
"This is not about sex. We all know sex sells and the whole world is buying."
It’s a very light-hearted collection of adverts. Especially like the ‘It’s in our nature’ one.
It’s in my nature to reproduce…

Women!!
It will be back to burning the bra’s again soon!!
March 27, 2011 at 23:48 #347546I always thought the adverts were a mickey-take of ‘sexist’ adverts more than actually taking the ‘sex sells’ approach to advertising.
I’ve found the adverts to be some of the funniest I’ve seen – particularly the ‘it’s in your nature to talk
balloons
‘ one. Love it.

In any case, is there not one with semi naked french bloke in it too?
I’d say anyone who thinks the adverts are sexist are tragically missing the point!

Women always dominated:
Aspasia
Cleopatra
TheodoraMore recently:
Margaret Thatcher
Frau MerkelThe historical distortionists exposed.
March 28, 2011 at 08:03 #347564Love them or loath them it has to be said Paddy Power actually have one of the best PR departments in the business.
Regardless of the rights or wrongs of the sexist adverts they have resulted in a thread here – therefore giving them more publicity.
It is not the first time one of their campaigns has resulted in discussion thus adding to the publicity.
It is very similar to O’Leary with Ryanair . . . he floats preposterous ideas like paying £1 to use the toilets or to have standing only sections on planes and it generates plenty of debate and free publicity.
