"This is my last, im leaving racing after this and won’t be back untill Newmarket apologise or JQ gives his deserving owner and trainer the G1 they deserve"
MRW the above is what you posted after the 1000 Guineas. Why have you changed your mind?
I find the title of this thread offensive.
May 16, 2010 at 08:16 #295903Funny that, RVW came of the bridle sooner than Paco Boy in Sussex lets not forget that Paco Boy was beaten 2.75l when carrying 9-7 to Rip Van Winkles 8-13 (8lbs) which cost him 3.3 lengths.
WFA, ffs. And who cares who came off the bridle first? Based on your logie Harchibald is better than Hardy Eustace.
May 16, 2010 at 10:30 #295916Good old Mr Wilson,i like a guy of opinion who isn"t afraid to back it up,thats what makes good debate and you are quite right in that we dont know if Rip Van Winkle has improved to beat the improved Paco Boy,but in my opinion Rip Van doesn"t need to improve to beat him anyway! Rip Van has tooooo much speed for him!
May 16, 2010 at 10:32 #295918Stick a slice of humble pie in that freezer and if Paco Boy ends up the top rated miler in Europe Mr W I’ll gladly eat my share.
If he ends up rated higher than RVW, I’ll eat the freezer.
You be careful it doesn"t affect that nice cardigan you are going to knit me!
May 16, 2010 at 11:17 #295927Interesting to note Richard Hughes on the morning line said Paco Boy came back with a fracture after the Sussex Stakes and I for one can’t wait for a rematch of RVW and PB. I adore Paco Boy as a race horse, he has all the attributes of a top notcher, while the field wasn’t right up to group 1 level it certainly would have made good reading as a group 2 and to beat that field like he has you have to respect just how good he is, certainly a horse that doesn’t get enough credit for his ability.

I see how you didn’t quote the rest of my post, I’ve put forth a serious and explantory reason into why this year Paco Boy will have his main contender covered.
Please, rather than insult and throw jibes, come to the rescue of those who are in the Rip camp and put a suggestion to me and convince me that he’s going to be better than Paco Boy this year because the science will tell you everything you need to know, Rip has it all to prove as a 4yo.
RE – TBRACING;
I didn’t know Paco Boy suffered a fracture in the Sussex, jesus christ.
May 16, 2010 at 15:02 #295976Mr. Wilson, the weight Paco Boy was giving Rip last year was weight for age. Most horse mature a large amount from three to four, and I see no reason to believe Rip will be any different? Yes Rip may have come of the bridle first, but he kept going at a sustained high speed that Paco Boy just couldn’t live with.
I’d fancy Goldikova to eat him also, by the way
May 16, 2010 at 15:04 #295977Mr W – Paco Boy was giving RVW weight-for-age allowance last year.
I agree that PB has come out and shown that he is very good again at 5 but there is no evidence he has improved to my mind. That said, you are right that RVW has it to prove at 4, we won’t know if he’s trained on at 4 until he runs and the vibes are a bit unclear from camp AOB but, on the evidence to date, he is a better horse than Paco Boy. PB’s two wins this season have done nothing to change that IMO.

I love Fruit-Fudge Sundaes too, Zar. Still can’t beat Strawberry Cheesecake, though.

Thank you both for your replies, I appriciate your thoughts especially from such expieraned Racing fans who geniunely aren’t far of the mark compared to some who are fantasists rather than realists.
Ill take what you’ve said on board Corm/THM – Cheers.
