I had a corker! Study of form on ground and previous class worked out.
Nice when there’s a bit of logic and fun.

March 2, 2013 at 20:38 #431064can’t believe I missed it; last few weeks I’ve been doing yankees on Nichols runners. AAARGH!!

To be fair to The Prof, I’m sure he backed it as he pretty openly tells us of all the times he loses due to the endless corruption and ineptitude all around him.
I’m pleased he’s stopped throwing his five pound coins down a drain and has managed to have a decent winning bet on what was obviously the only straight race run in the UK this year!

Is this a truthful comment or is it an attempt at irony Prof? ie Pulled up last time out.
If the former I agree, if latter I disagree.
PDP ran over further on softer ground, didn’t stay and PU.If you did back it Prof, well done!
My "price to beat" was 15/1, SP 18/1, but I didn’t back it.
Value Is EverythingMarch 2, 2013 at 23:07 #431097Inconsistent horses can be more use than consistent ones, if you have patience and the right size bank!
March 3, 2013 at 01:59 #431107Well done prof, good on you

Cheers!

It’s woolf who says it’s all criminal. I say there are institutional connivances, occasional sharp practice and now and again at a donkey race level there is outright criminality. You know that is a fair and true assessment.

No irony. I’m always looking for a decent priced horse with class in the past and a reason to come back to life. PDP ticked all boxes. 19/1 on betfair.
March 3, 2013 at 02:04 #431110Oh I backed it all right. The last time I had a 20/1 winner was:
1/12/12
1st (2)
10 Miss Bunter
D O’Meara
3
8-12
S De Sousa
20/1
Always prominent, hampered on inside over 2f out, led inside final furlong, ran on opened 16/1

Au contraire Prof, my accusation is that racing is largely about ”keeping it in the family” the family being all the connections.
There is criminal activity and occasionally the criminals overstep an agreed boundary and are thrown to the wolves.Congratulations on your outrageous good fortune in finding a winner in the old fashioned way. I trust you will let us know the next time you find a winner in this outmoded manner, it could signal a return to pre-exchange values, I’ll not be holding my breath.
