Smith has maintained a dignity and helpful approach to the media and fans.
Even when Paul Nicholls has now tactlessly spoiled things by unnecessarily revealing details of their little disagreement, he has shown a lot more dignity than Nicholls and his disgruntled tweet-loving staff have.
