A couple of pictures of Overturn I took today at Musselburgh ahead of his win in the Arkle trial. What a star he is – can’t wait to see how Simonsig copes with him at Cheltenham. Intriguing clash.

February 3, 2013 at 22:15 #428416You are quite right about
Overturn
being a Star David, his Pitmens Derby victory still sits as one of his greatest achievements coming from the Car park that day to make all.His versatility is very rare and like
Junior
he’s won on the flat over hurdles and over fences. What makes his clash with
Simonsig
so intriguing is the fact neither horse has met a decent opponent yet and trying to gauge just who is the better chaser is a difficult one. The Arkle is a fast run race and ‘Overturn’ will try to do what he did in the Champion hurdle the year he was pacemaking for ‘Peddlers Cross’,that could prove his undoing as ‘Simonsig’ will pick him off up the hill…………Unless the ground is on the faster side of Good,if it was ‘Overturn’ wont be caught granted a Clean round of jumping. In reality the ground will be watered so that will blunt the flat horses speed and if thats the case around Cheltenham I’d expect the Grey to get the better of him! A race to look forward to though.
February 3, 2013 at 23:21 #428421Nice pics David. One thing that’s clear from those photos is Overturn is not that imposing an individual…
But he sure can jump.
Role on Cheltenham for a great novice clash.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 3, 2013 at 23:31 #428423Thanks for the photos and I agree with all the comments made here its going to be an intriguing and exciting race.
February 3, 2013 at 23:45 #428425Won’t get within 5 lengths of Simonsig at the line.
February 4, 2013 at 12:04 #428444Lovely pictures. A very tough, game and genuine horse, who has been fantastic for connections. So versatile, I wish him all the best in his clash with Simonsig at Cheltenham, should be a good race.
February 4, 2013 at 19:23 #428529Whatever, it will be a cracking race
