Thanks to everyone for the messages of congratulation following Outlaw Tom’s win at Hexham on Sunday. Unfortunately I couldn’t be there but managed to see it on telly and what a thrill it was. His second win since TRF became involved with him last year, we all love him. He is such a game performer and didn’t the up and coming star Campbell Gillies give him a fantastic ride, judging things to a tee.
Well done to Lucinda Russell, who was confident he’d run a big race on Sunday, and to Paul Brierley who manages the syndicate, is Campbell’s agent and also spent much of the week constantly walking the course at Hexham assessing the ground.
Outlaw Tom is a lovely, game horse. I’ve been lucky enough to visit him a couple of times at Arlary and he is a real gentleman, big and good-looking. Hopefully we’ll have a few more great days with him.
Paul is eager to expand the syndicate, eventually hoping to have additional horses. There are six of us involved from TRF and we’d be delighted if a few more wanted to join us. A couple of the lads are based in the south and don’t get to see much of the horse but they seem to derive just as much pleasure (more maybe!) as the rest of us so don’t let that put you off.
It is extremely affordable so if you’d like some more details please get in touch via PM or email (<!– e –>david@theracingforum.co.uk<!– e –>).
If you’re quick Outlaw Tom could line up for his next engagement (hopefully the Highland National at Perth) with you among the lucky owners!
Here’s the Outlaw with jockey Campbell Gillies and groom Faye Anderson in the winner’s enclosure at Hexham and also a great shot of him taken during the race. Both photos kindly reproduced by permission of Joyce Manson Photography.

March 27, 2012 at 23:31 #398584Well done all. Maybe now you can afford proper cheekpieces rather than paint-rollers from B&Q
March 28, 2012 at 23:17 #398662I was there on sunday, it was a great ride certainly pulled me out of a hole. Hadnt won a penny on the first 4 races. decided to back Lucindas only to horse’s there, outlaw tom and green flag in the last which i managed to get at 6/1, was backed in to 11/4 on course. What could have been a disasterous day turned into a great one apart from my sunburnt head

Think yourself lucky, it’s normally frostbite at Hexham!
March 29, 2012 at 17:59 #398723Let it be absolutely clear – myself, David, Rob, VtC, and all the other TRF Milnathorters have owned twice as many winners this season as Robert Waley-Cohen.
In your FACE, Modern-Art-Collection Boy!

So don't run, just like the others always do
March 29, 2012 at 18:38 #398727Lol @ SC.
He sometimes wears brown cheekpieces but I quite like the bold white ones.
You can do it if you B&Q it.

Under Rules at least – Rumbavu’s win at Garthorpe last Saturday was a sixth between the flags in 2011-12 for trainer and rider alike.
Dead excited you’re going for the Highland National, btw – a great test and (for the class of race it is) usually a really well-remunerated contest, around a smashing venue. If you’re planning a Highland National-Balcormo Mains double-header on successive days, I’ll be present at the latter – mine’s a Shandy Bass, ta.
