4.15 Killarney Fell two out and looked fatal
– incident currently on the replay.
Perhaps someone would confirm if this was a fatality as not reported as such on Racing Post/ Sporting Life / Irish RacingMay 11, 2025 at 20:16 #1730145RIP to her
Confirmed by the RP. I didn’t know there were any Novice Chases for 4-year olds in GB or IRE. Not at this time of the year. She was beautifully bred for a flat horse.
May 11, 2025 at 23:43 #1730149She was really good- beat Bacchanalian to win her maiden hurdle- he subsequently hacked up on the G3 Norman Colfer which is usually a decent race.
Looking at the irishracing website race conditions, that race has been 4yo+ for the few years of its existence. There was a beginners’ at Tipperary on Thursday that used to be 5yo+ but is now 4yo+. Possibly trying to copy the French system?
The trainer is not averse to sending young ‘uns over fences, he ran Busselton in his first chase in July as a 4yo.May 13, 2025 at 17:41 #1730260Good to see my Idahope thread has been removed as it suggests he in fact survived that injury in Killarney reported in the Racing media. It certainly didn’t look good at all seeing him pull up.
