Four Alexander brothers competed in the Fife Hunt Members point-to-point a few years back, David, Jamie, Michael and Nick. Not sure that more than two of them ever appeared under Rules at the same time. Presumably Mr G Column may be able to clarify, assuming he looks in occasionally.

That’s one for the long winter nights, I think, once the jigsaws, needlepoint and ouija board have all lost their appeal. B-)

There is no shortage of examples of multiple siblings taking on each other between the flags over the decades; pool any two or three of Jake, Oliver, Thomas and Toby Greenall a few years back. I’m not sure whether more than two of them ever raced against each other in the same Rules race, however, and nor will they now, with Oliver having followed Thomas and Toby into retirement from race-riding in the past few weeks.

Were there ever three Eddery brothers riding?

I seem to recall Pat, Paul and David Eddery briefly being active at the same time. David was very low key though.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I can remember more about racing back in the seventies and eighties than I can about what happened last week, memory lane is a lovely place.
An old friend of mine is proud of the fact that his father and 4 of his fathers brothers rode in the same race in Ireland. There is a pub in Kildare Town called the Five Jockeys that is named in honour of the feat. One of the brothers won the race,Doyle was the surname.I have not heard of five brothers riding in the same race anywhere else.

If you go to back a certainty always buy a return ticket.

Not overly common to have a family with five brothers in it I suppose.
