Just because the City of Londoin Police are a shower of shite doesn’t mean you should bury your head in the sand.

I’m not burying my head in any way. But what i am asking is for TDK to show exactly what he means when he insinuates with comments such as i quoted. Or else refrain from unhelpful comments.

I don’t think anyone could argue about the sheer incompetence of the London police

And racing has been dragged through the dirt – now that they’ve been cleared let’s see if this is the main headline on the news tonight and let’s see if it makes the front pages tomorrow as it was/did when the arrests were made…

The naivety of some on here astounds me. I could post about races and incidents that have convinced me beyond all reasonable doubt that racing is corrupt, but I ‘m not that stupid.

This case has provided yet another example that it is incredibly difficult to prove such things in a court of law. Where that leaves the integrity of the sport in teh long term though – god only knows.

Absolutely TDK. I really thought they must have had a solid case here to be going to court as they must have known what evidence was required.

Re the comments about allowing the jockeys to ride given some of what has been admitted. Do you really think the BHA has any legs to stop these jockeys doing anything at the moment? They are currently being strapped to a barrel – legs akimbo – whilst the defendants choose what to insert…Would you want to choose this time to point out such issues?

This case is nothing of the sort – it’s proof that – thankfully – it’s hard to prove *anything* in a court of law without any compelling evidence!

It’s now come to light that one of the key witnesses, brought in to give his expert views, admitted that he is not an expert on British racing  – by the sound of it, even the judge was baffled by that one lol.

    Gus,

Are you suggesting that we shouldn’t have an opinion ?

    AP

I like that one, everyone knows you need to be:

-An Architect if you are going to comment on a building

-A banker if you are going to talk about interest rates!

-A footballer if you are going to offer an opinion on a Football match

and a criminal lawyer if you want to have an opinion on this case!!!!

    What was you thinking?

Why didn’t they put the horses in question on the stand?

Then we would have heard the truth, literally, from the horses mouth.

Agree with all those who say that there are no winners in any of this.

.. I’m not an expert, but if you defraud someone aren’t you supposed to win money and not the other way around?

It’s only cost the taxpayer £10M … considering the millenium dome cost £760M I suppose its quite cheap really.

Maybe we should dispense with our current legal system and have trial by insinuation? That’s about the only way some of the KF knockers on here would get what THEY view as justice.
The evidence against him was always bordering on the laughable, as is much of the bleating on here about supposed injustice.
Welcome back, King KF! Long may you grace our sport with your presence. :D :D :D

My doctor comments on my drinking and he’s not an expert in the field – I told him to shaddup and I went to see my barmaid

I (tried and) couldn’t put it better myself.

TDK, if you’re just going to spout racing isn’t straight, and not back it up, please tell me – what is the point?

Wonder how Tony Culhane and Bob Winston are feeling about this?

The fact that this case has collapsed means it is very very unlikely that anyone will try to secure a convinction for corruption/non triers in Horse Racing in the foreseeable future, however right they think they are and however good they think their evidence is. I don’t think that is a healthy situation for Horse Racing to find itself in.

Totally agree with Reet, totally agree with Salselon.

Welcome back KF, can’t wait to see you in England again, and let’s stop all this "racing isn’t straight" talk unless you have evidence to prove it – and if that’s the case, take it to the police instead of putting it on a forum.

This whole case was brought by the JC – the police did not want to proceed with it due to lack of evidence…

I was under the impression the exact OPPOSITE was true. Can someone clarify?
