Didn’t he have a bit of a marriage scandal a while ago – thought that didn’t go down very well in America…
…and for Zome and the other Kathleen Hanna fans on the boards….
Oh **** Giuliani
He’s such a ****ing jerk
Shut down all the stripbars

January 8, 2008 at 15:14 #134074but can it be any worse than Nicolas Sarkozy who seems unable to keep it in his pants
Far be it for me to defend Sarko, but he’s a divorced guy with a girlfriend … that hardly makes him Bill Clinton … or John Major (… ewww!)
BTW, what other country could have a president that’s dating a woman of the quality of Carla Bruni? France truly is the greatest country on the planet!
Steve
PS she’s not just a pretty face, her first record was outstanding.
January 8, 2008 at 15:32 #134079well I think he’s making a mockery of politics and the Presidency. Must be an easy job, reckon I could do it
by the way, how come independents are not allowed to vote in most states in the US election? I’ve just read it on teletext and I don’t get it. They can vote in N Hampshire apparently but not most other places. This seems quite undemocratic to me. I can’t believe this. Am I reading it wrong?
January 8, 2008 at 21:15 #134144well I think he’s making a mockery of politics and the Presidency
In what way?
The guy’s divorced, meets a woman, dates her …
Is he supposed to be celibate until voted out of office?
Steve
January 8, 2008 at 22:19 #134150no, but he’s been twice divorced with the last one very recently over and now apparently marrying his new flame, who as far as I know, he hasn’t known that long.
This is the President of France, not Britney Spears.
January 8, 2008 at 22:46 #134154no, but he’s been twice divorced with the last one very recently over
The divorce was recent, but the marriage was, presumably, over a while back.
and now apparently marrying his new flame, who as far as I know, he hasn’t known that long.
wait a minute… you stated off saying “Nicolas Sarkozy who seems unable to keep it in his pants” … and now you’re complaining that he’s too quick to settle into a committed monogamous relationship?
I think you’re going to have it in for him, whatever he does.

January 9, 2008 at 00:03 #134163He should keep his private life to himself and not flaunt his sexuality the way he does, it’s not statesmanlike, there’s no sense of propriety, it’s undignified.
It’s not what I call a rounded personality, a man in control. It smacks of someone in emotional turmoil and craving attention.
Thanks goodness we have Angela Merkel in Europe.

Well yeah, but she’s a boiler, isn’t she?

Two points:
1) He’s French; no romantic misdemeanours are beyond a Frenchman. Besides, I would much rather he hated Brussels than infidelity!
2) The day and hour I would sh*g Angela Merkel over Carla Bruni is the day I burn my retinas out!
January 9, 2008 at 09:39 #134204…
I have just choked on my bacon, egg and sausage to read that Mrs Clinton has won New Hampshire….wow!!!!! what a comeback.
Friggo,
clearly, a middle aged politician with a pretty girl on his arm can do no wrong in the eyes of the male populace.January 9, 2008 at 12:07 #134232just shows he’s an alpha male, doesn’t it! ages ago the Observer did an article comparing Hillary with Condaleesa Rice, which seemed to imply that Rice would make a far better first lady president than Hillary; this surprised me, The Observer being a somewhat left of centre paper….must say I have realised that my knowledge of American politics is not very good and I need to read a sort of beginners guide – always knew that out of 4 years in office 2 years was spent campaigning, that no president could serve more than 2 terms in office and that the president could be republican but with a democrat senate – apart from that I know nothing.Have always felt though that Hillary was going to be president one day though..certainly more interesting than the last election with that non person whose name I can’t even remember [the one whose face and profile were identical]…
January 10, 2008 at 20:07 #134516Just back from Ireland this week. I read in an Irish broadsheet last Tuesday that Paddy Power has closed the book and paid out on Obama winning the Democrat nomination. I’m sure it said they paid out something like 45 million Euro (can that possibly be right???).
Dohhhhhhhhhhhhh!
January 10, 2008 at 20:49 #134523hmmm..they could have got it wrong there….also paid out ages ago on Derby County being relegated and we’ve got ages yet….
January 10, 2008 at 21:26 #134528Looks like its true about the pay out. Not sure about the 45 million euros bit.
Pasted from the Paddy Power site where Obama is now 11/8, Clinton is 8/15
"It doesn’t occur often, but Paddy has been caught with his trousers down. Our bright spark boss insisted after the Iowa Caucus, "Barack Obama won’t be caught now; no one will beat him in New Hampshire." After paying out on the Illinois senator to become the Democratic Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton must have taken the brash move to heart. Much like her husband, who also lost in Iowa, she made a dramatic comeback with victory in the New Hampshire Primary. Speaking about her win, she said, "Let’s give America the kind of comeback that New Hampshire has just given me." Will her revival continue to see her become the next US President? View our Election microsite!"
January 11, 2008 at 16:59 #134636Barack is a lightweight windbag.
His refusal to take questions from voters (unlike Hilary) was significant given the difficulties he seems to have with detail and some of the drivel he has spouted
His connections to a black seperatist church (which has links to the vile louis Farrkahan too) are an achilles heal waiting to be exploited
I have alot of time for Hilary. She is razor sharp and committed. I think over the next few weeks she will take Obana to the cleaners. I hope so too…

Very good article here on windbag Obana
