SIZING JOHN my bet for the arkle a horse that get better over fences and though he get 2m4 i think 2m be perfect for him Arkle the right race to go for.
BEAT THAT had strong hurdle form beating Cole Harden and Don Poli last season a washout but over fences where we see best of him looks a stayer and probaly be a RSA horse
ALVISIO VILLE
Trained by Wille Mullins was fav to win delloite hurdle but was 3rd where horses finish in front of him were Windsor Park who was 2nd won neptune novices.Nicholas Canyon who won at Aintree. But this JP McManus horse is a nice horse to go over fences JLT be right race for him.
November 2, 2015 at 20:09 #1220180Glad to see Mullins confirm in today’s stable tour that chasing is the plan for Shaneshill. The 2m 4f novice division looks there for the taking and this looks the stand out contender on hurdles form. He ran a super race in the Supreme before hammering Outlander at Fairyhouse – was probably over the top and racing over a trip that stretched him when third at Punchestown on his last start. 12/1 has been taken.
November 2, 2015 at 20:27 #1220182Lami serge out on Sunday, much better horse than we seen at cheltenham and with his excuses and poor trip, still ran with great credit.
Douvan at 3s
And lami serge at 14s will do for me.November 4, 2015 at 12:39 #1220330Tommy where you rate ALVISLO VILLE i think over fences he do much better and JLT looks right race for him.
November 12, 2015 at 23:22 #1221439There’s a good few Novice Chasers I’m looking forward to this season, and one of them Seeyouatmidnight, made his seasonal reappearance at Carlisle on Monday, his first run since his fine effort in The World Hurdle. Not a bad wee race, and in the end he had no excuses, even his stumble near the end was unlikely to have made the difference. Happy enough though with his debut over the larger obstacles, and he looked a natural. I suspect he’ll head to The Festival, but can’t make my mind up whether he wants a step up in trip, or dropped down. The way he ran in The World Hurdle suggests that The JLT might be ideal for him, but then there’s bound to be a few potential superstars lying in wait for him, not least from a certain yard across The Irish Sea, and The RSA may be too hot for him. It might just be that the 4 miler may be the call, though future runs should tell us more. Whatever happens, he’s no mug, and although maybe just short of top class, he should land a couple of races this season.
I used to love a good go on The RSA, and was one of my most profitable races for a few seasons, but been slim pickings the last few years. If More Of That takes to it tomorrow, and he’s over his ailments, then it’ll take a good one to beat him. Always difficult to second guess the Gigginstown runners, but I really like No More Heroes, and he’d be my #1 hope of theirs, he’s always looked a potential Gold Cup Horse.
Also from Ireland is Kilultagh Vic. He broke my heart in The Martin Pipe, when he just edged out Noble Endeavour, and after that gutsy display, he followed up at Punchestown. Impossible to second guess where he’ll go in March, as he’ll be part of the Mullins “guessing game”, but he looks a very decent prospect wherever he ends up.
Another Irish Novice of interest would be Ttebbob. I really liked him as a hurdler, and thought he would have went very close in The Coral Cup, and had a fair bet on him. Unfortunately he was brought down. I thought he would have remained over hurdles, but it looks like a Chasing campaign for him, and although not necessarily one for Cheltenham, he may be ideal for Punchestown.
Was a wee bit disappointed not to see Vintage Vinnie declared tomorrow, though maybe More Of That has scared him off. That might just be a hint for myself, but I was just really taken with him last time at Cheltenham. He ended up on the deck, his second error of the race, but he was still full of running when he came down, and looked the winner for sure. I liked the way he travelled, trainer knows what it takes to win the race, and if she can iron out the jumping issues then he might be a dark one for The RSA.
I rarely bet on The Arkle on the day, never mind Ante-Post, but I couldn’t resist the 20’s ew on Sizing John. Straight in The Notebook after last seasons Supreme, and I’ll be very disappointed if I don’t get a run for my money at the very least. Obviously up against Douvan again no doubt, but it was a pleasing debut for him a couple of weeks back, and plenty to be encouraged about.
Finally, for now, Theinval. Won nicely at Kempton, before being part of a very good payday for me on the Friday at Aintree. Dug it out well that day, and though eventually running out of steam on his chasing debut at Bangor last week, his jumping was excellent. Plenty left to work on, and even with NJH’s suspect record with chasers lately, I’ve very high hopes for him.
November 15, 2015 at 13:01 #1221817Minella Rocco to make his debut over fences in the novice chase at Haydock on Friday.
Interesting runner for Jonjo who also has More of That as a RSA/JLT prospect.
November 21, 2015 at 01:08 #1222497Was looking forward to seeing him as well Sheriff, but it didn’t quite go to plan, did it? Mind you, he is coming back from illness, and it was a mile away (hopefully) from the conditions he’ll face at Cheltenham, should he get back on track. Maybe a bit of an obvious shout, but he might just be one to keep in mind for the 4 miler, and I’m sure given connections, he’s went in many notebooks for that race. He certainly didn’t scream JLT, and after the excellent comeback from More Of That, difficult to see him going RSA.
Mixed performances from a few I put up earlier. First the bad………
Vintage Vinnie was too bad to be true last Saturday at Cheltenham, and although nothing more than a dark horse for The RSA in my eyes, I’d have to be hoping he hated the conditions. Would have to step up considerably.
A lot better though from Sizing John, and Ttebbob though. Sizing John again put in a good round at Punchestown last Sunday, never looking in any danger, and without being asked too many questions, he still looks to have more to offer, with his jumping looking pretty decent. Talking of good jumping, I’d be very surprised if any Novice puts in a better round than what we seen from Ttebbob at Thurles. He demolished his rivals, and had it won a long way from home. His main market rival, Moyle Park was injured in the race (fingers crossed for him), but I don’t think he’d have got near Ttebbob. Although still early days for him, I’ll be very disappointed if he doesn’t end the season with a decent prize in him.
November 21, 2015 at 05:42 #1222512Very nice from Ttebbob VTC, interesting to see where they go from here. Sounds as though he’ll be kept busy with Harrington mentioning a race at Navan as well as Christmas.
November 22, 2015 at 10:04 #1222730Looking forward to douvan today.
Just listened to willie mullins on his website saying he’d have no problem going out in trip, but as long as he jumps well he will stay over the minimum trip over fences.
On big at 3/1 for the arkle even though I thought it was very short. I even stopped myself backing earlier at 4/1 thinking it was too short but as the money kept coming, had to jump in.
Might look a pretty good price later though.November 22, 2015 at 10:10 #1222732Also worth noting shaneshill Imo a huge price to win any race at 8/1 with the jlt at his mercy Imo.
Arkle douvan 3/1
Lami serge 14/1.Jlt
Shaneshill 10/1 – 17.5 exchange
Alvissio ville 25/1
Vyta du roc 29.0 excange
Aurko 25/1
Rsa
Outlander 44.0 exchange
Black hercules 36.0 exchange
Abre de vies 80.0 exchange
More of that 16.5 exchange
Alpha des obeaux 78.0
Kilultagh vic 16/1November 23, 2015 at 07:28 #1222883Yeah THM, hopefully see him back out soon, definitely one to keep an eye on, as good a chasing debut as I could hope for.
November 23, 2015 at 15:29 #1222931Vaniteux looked very impressive today. Made every yard and done everything right.
Jumping was very good and destroyed the field (two fallers in regal encore and Stephanie Frances). Qewy some 20lengths behind.
Looks every bit an arkle contender.November 24, 2015 at 21:04 #1223080Anyone got any opinions on outlander??
Was personally impressed with his debut over fences and had futramic beat over 20 lengths tying in the no more heroes form.
My idea of the drinmore winner and mullins seems to have plenty of faith in him.
I keep backing him for the rsa at 40.0 and above on the exchange.
Although could go for the jlt.November 25, 2015 at 17:14 #1223241Rocky, year after year, I promise myself not to do any ante-post accas, mug 31’s etc, but I’ve one a couple, and one of them was way back in April, with Outlander down for The RSA.
Had kind of forgotten about him to be honest, but I remember being very interested in him last year, and as you say, he had a very nice debut. Certainly not a forlorn hope, despite the trainers many options.

Shaneshill makes his chasing debut over 2m 2f at Thurles tomorrow. I’d imagine the 2m 3f race Sir Des Champs won as a novice at Limerick over Christmas will be next on the agenda all going well tomorrow.
An exciting race at Newbury tomorrow as well, expect Beast Of Burden will be hard to beat.
December 14, 2015 at 10:39 #1225858Very nice from Ttebbob VTC, interesting to see where they go from here. Sounds as though he’ll be kept busy with Harrington mentioning a race at Navan as well as Christmas.
From a jumping perspective one of the two novices that have impressed me the most this season.
I really hope he doesn’t take on the more established two mile candidates. He naturally goes a fair gallop but there is a danger that he might be forced to go a little too quick against better opposition. That could easily undo a lot of the good work. I would have thought one run over two and a half and then the JLT would be a decent plan. It isn’t the easiest task to make all at Cheltenham but he would take plenty out of their comfort zone from an early stage and his slick and accurate jumping would be a big asset.
The other one I like is Onenightinvienna. He isn’t a flamboyant jumper but he is very economical which is what you want in a stayer. It definitely looks as if he lacks a gear for an RSA (no point in running an honourable fifth) but the National Hunt Chase looks an ideal target. I think he is very much the correct favourite. No surprise if he is competitive in one of the Nationals somewhere down the line.
