Is everything ok with Black Hercules?

Betfairs been a bit weird recently with horses moving, probably happens more often than most this time of year with people trying to hedge/lay bets they’ve put on some time in advance. Often when one person starts laying a horse others follow suit, just look at Mins drift a week or two ago. Haven’t heard about anything being amiss with him, I’d hazard a guess it’s just the market evening itself out. Or maybe those that wanted to back him for the RSA already have and thus don’t need to back him any more?

There was an article on Racingpost quoting Mullins was ‘seriously considering’ Black hercules for JLT, however it was removed before i could read it. This was a matter of minutes ago.

Where do we think Beg To Differ is running ?

I thought he might be bound for the 4 miler but knowing that Minella Foru and the other JP hotpot stay in Ireland, i wonder if he’s going for the Ultima ?

Ups and downs with this lot as the seasons went on, but with an apparent change of direction for Seeyouatmidnight today, thought I’d have a look at them.

No More Heroes and More Of That take care of themselves, and their chances at Cheltenham are obviously well documented since then.

Seeyouatmidnight has paid his way for me again, but the market seems to be telling the story today, and it looks like The 4 Miler for him. I’ve said before, having followed him from day 1, I’ve seen nothing to suggest he wants a proper test, though I always suspected they would consider this route and if not going for The RSA, then I thought The JLT would make more sense. In fact, you could argue that The JLT should have been the main target all along. I haven’t bet him for The 4 Miler, but will do if they goes there, so I’ll at least get some cash back for being wrong. I hope I’m very wrong.

Kilutagh Vic looked a serious player till injury intervened, and it would have taken a good one to beat him in The JLT.

Ttebbob gave me some good fun earlier in the season, and his first wins over fences were the most impressive I’ve seen from any Novice for many years. Nice enough to give me a nice green book in The Arkle. He was completely blown away though, as could be expected, by Douvan. I’m sure he was just used as a sighter though by Jessica Harrington, to see just what she was up against in The Arkle, with her Rock The World  Joking aside, I’d like to see Ttebbob swerve Cheltenham, and see if they can find him a nice prize at Punchestown, though I do still have a few quid lying on him for The Arkle.

Sizing John is another I’ve got for The Arkle, and very much a forgotten horse. Was good to see him start the season well, and it’s probably forgotten how impressive he was. No harm in getting swept aside by Douvan, who is an absolute monster, but I remain hopeful that he can give me some each way returns at a fair price.

I was actually quite happy with Theinvals debut over fences, but connections obviously disagreed. He remains over hurdles for the timebeing, and I wouldn’t put anyone off parting with a couple of quid on him at 33’s for The Coral Cup.

I put my money where my mouth is with Vintage Vinnie, but the problem remains his jumping. He had the race won at Doncaster last time, but blundered his chance away to Thomas Brown. Trainer can get horses ready for The Festival, but I remain dubious as to whether she’s ironed out those jumping issues.

The one I forgot to put up in my initial post was Outlander, and he was bet for The RSA in a couple of Mug 31’s right after Aintree last year. Don’t know why I forgot him, as he was always on my radar. No harm done though, as I took at him at 14’s on those slips, and he was a steady 25’s all year, not to mention the fact that he goes JLT anyway, for which he’d be a strong fancy of mine.

Got a few others at silly odds as well,

    Rule The World
    Pleasant Company
    Measureofmydreams
    Rock The World
    Noble Endeavour
    Ballychorus

but they all look like taking in other targets, or avoiding Cheltenham altogether, though you obviously know that when you take the big odds. Be a small bonus if some of them actually re-routed, especially Rock The World, who I deliberately left out of my Ten To Follow, along with Kilutagh Vic, as I didn’t want to jinx them. I needn’t have worried, as he’s not been seen for a while :negative:

Is he going to run at all? Jonjo not exactly brimming over with information is he? Ditto every Festival.

I have backed him for the Ultima but he isn’t going to get in and the stable have other more likely runners.

If he runs most likely it will be the Kim Muir but he doesn’t make much appeal in that race as he isn’t the easiest ride and would be running off top weight.

To be honest Stilvi I was at Cheltenham New Years Day and it jumped shocking and still finished second much praise to Dicky there!!

And then next/last time it won it still didn’t jump great for me. IMO hopefully it doesn’t go to Cheltenham cos I can’t see it getting round at Cheltenham pace!!

Just checked the latest declarations and Beg To Differ should now get in the Ultima so maybe I was being too pessimistic about my bet. Lack of experience an issue but on a decent mark and is progressive.

Black Hercules as expected, pulled out of the 4 miler. I’m still holding out hope that ROI Des Francs goes here instead of the RSA but I may be clutching at straws. I backed BH, RDF and Onenightinvienna for this race and there’s a 50-50 chance that no one will turn up! Ah the perils of ante-post betting! :negative:
