Sorry if theres a thread for this.
Brian Ellison really wants to win this race, he achieved his other goal this year winning the Hillery Needler with Perfect Part.
Tashkhan 20/1 E/W 4 places, was pulled from the Queens Vase at Royal Ascot.
Trueshan won this off top weight, while Tashkhan is not in the same league, I think his group race form should give him a great chance off top weight.June 23, 2024 at 19:51 #1699772Not guaranteed to get in by any stretch, but Sir Chauvelin for me just now
Sir Chauvelin 100’s EW
June 23, 2024 at 21:00 #1699774VtC – Sir Chauvelin’s run yesterday certainly suggested there’s a win coming soon, he just needs a race set up with a few taking each other on. Maybe the Vase will be an opportunity on this occasion?
June 24, 2024 at 12:11 #1699814Yeah Rob, Vase looks more realistic right now, but still hopeful he can sneak in here
June 24, 2024 at 15:33 #1699839Spartan Army 14-1 ew
June 24, 2024 at 23:15 #1699876Zoffee for me at 12/1. He was 9/1 last year off a similar sort of mark but he’d taken in Ascot which they’ve deliberately missed this year to keep him fresher. Won the Vase race a couple of years back and although he disappointed here last year he just didn’t look the same horse generally after Ascot and its taken them a while to get him back in form. He’s on a career high mark but he’s got loads of competitive form in the big staying handicaps off similar and it doesn’t look the deepest renewal ever. Hugo Palmer does so well in this in recent years too having won it with Caravan Of Hope a few years back and he’s sent Solent Gateway, Rajinsky and Collide to get placed recently too.
I do think Evaluation is very interesting for Lucinda Russell but I’ll stop short of backing him antepost at 25’s as he’s been off the track since the end of April after winning at Wolverhampton, missed an engagement in May due to the going. If she has him back in one piece he was a really good stayer in 2022 and went off favourite funnily enough in the Vase Zoffee won, he was a bit unlucky not to win that day. Just a nagging doubt about why he’s not found another race since April.
June 24, 2024 at 23:51 #1699879I was a bit stuck on two here. Mike’s Spartan Army and Onesmoothoperator. I
dithered and missed the 16/1 0n the latter, or so I thought, but fortunately
Paddy Power powered it up from 14s to 16/1.Elliot says he’s a funny ride because you have to take your time and ride him
for luck. With a bit of luck he’ll weave his way through and be good enough to
get his head in front at the endOnesmoothoperator 16/1 Paddy Power
June 26, 2024 at 04:20 #1699980I’ve backed Zoffee as a win bet and will probably look to place a saver on Solent Gateway depending on final decs.
June 26, 2024 at 20:08 #1700026I’ve got Zoffee will look to add another when see final declaration

June 27, 2024 at 13:50 #1700058This race & this day’s racing was ruined by putting in the all weather track.
This used to be a good afternoon’s racing but no more.
All weather racing.No thanks.June 27, 2024 at 23:00 #1700087Agreed.
Sheer vandalism to be having this day and The Plate on the AWT

Too Friendly 25sBest of luck to all
June 28, 2024 at 20:17 #1700147I can understand the objections to the track. The very thought of holding racing on a decent galloping track with a consistent surface…
That aside Evaluation e/w 16/1 5 places has had a break since beating a subsequent improver at Wolverhampton. Lucinda Russell has had her horses plenty fit enough of a break of late and this won has a fair record when fresh. Presumably targeted at this race.
Forza Orta e/w 25/1 5 places has solid staying form and is near his previous winning mark. Galloping track with a stiff finish suits.
June 28, 2024 at 20:58 #1700156Not copying you Lanadafar, I swear. Also on TASHKAN, although had to settle for 12/1, which was still good value in a poor renewal of this race bar a few good ones at the top end.
Last seen running as well as could be hoped for in a group 1 last year and Ellison in cracking form. Tapeta? Time will tell.June 29, 2024 at 11:52 #1700255With Sir Chauvelin not surprisingly not getting in, was going to serve this.
I’d give Yashin a decent chance here, but I’ll look to cover him in running, probably lower than current 10’s. I’ll see how’s he’s looking
The one I have bet is Island Brave. Not getting any younger, but on a fair mark, and I think he can at least get involved
Island Brave 66’s EW 7Pls/80’s
June 29, 2024 at 13:29 #1700283Trooper Bisdee to win. Each way saver on Spartan Army, six places.
