June 25, 2015 at 14:46 #1114825I’m with you Darren on Gabrial’s King. He was unlucky in a decent race at Ripon in April, had he got some room earlier he might have won that one. He also ran well in the Chester Cup, a running on 4th. I don’t think Chester is his track, he is a big galloping type that grinds out over distances and I think that Newcastle is much more up his street than the tight twisting turns at Chester. His two wins (on the turf) have been on g/f, which is exactly the going at present. A little light rain forecast today, and then two dry days should mean he gets his ground too.
Well done taking the 14/1, I hung off as I was considering a punt on Ardlui who unfortunately didn’t make the cut. I grabbed the last 11/1 on offer today with Hills, but the 10/1 on general offer is still decent value. I think he will be nearer 8/1 come the off.
Best of luck
