Trueshan @ 14’s
Read in the paper last week that he would only run at Ascot if rain arrived and if not he would be routed here. Not many races for him before the Autumn unless it pours down at Goodwood or York and with a big pot on offer they may as well have a crack at it.

A stayer i told myself to follow at the start of the season
Unexposed and potentially got a good few lbs in hand off 94
June 22, 2021 at 11:20 #1547278I also like the look of Opera Gift. Bit worried about lack of experience (same with Longsider – another fancied one). I really should stop looking at the stats! Also fancy Rajinsky (ew at a bigger price) providing it pitches up / gets in (currently no 21).

Two that could have a little more scope for improvement than some catch my eye. Firstly GALATA BRIDGE 20/1, a prominent running sort who is drawn in box one. A decent fourth in the Copper Horse Handicap at Royal Ascot followed a close second behind Valyrian Steel at Kempton. Improved at shorter distances last season and I suspect the two miles might well be a further advantage.
DUBIOUS AFFAIR 15/2 is another that improved all through last season and she finished a couple of places in front of Galata Bridge when just missing out at Ascot. She didn’t really click until the age of four but progressed from 71 to 100 over the course of last season. Surface is no problem, she promises see the trip out and stall 11 is not too bad.
I’d give Rajinsky a chance as he’s in form and ran respectably in this race last year, but he’s drawn in the lay-by which could makes things difficult.
June 24, 2021 at 22:46 #1547663To be honest I thought the Vase looked the more competitive race of the two, more unexposed/well handicapped sorts in that. On that basis Australis ran pretty much his best race on turf last time out at Epsom over a trip too short. He’s a much better all weather performer and while I don’t think he has bags in hand off his mark he might have enough in a field as robnorth pointed out full of exposed sorts. That Epsom run just smacked me as being a prep run for this having gone so close last year. He’ll do for me.
June 25, 2021 at 18:33 #1547741Dubious Affair ew 5 places
June 26, 2021 at 11:35 #1547887Rajinsky ew for me .
June 26, 2021 at 12:59 #1547908Lucky Deal each way @ 40/1
June 26, 2021 at 13:24 #1547921Trueshan may well outclass this field but I looked for value towards the bottom of the handicap , Mancini is a huge price but he,s drawn well and has no weight , I can see him running into a place , stargazer loves Newcastle and again is towards the bottom of the handicap , I can see him running well to
June 26, 2021 at 15:22 #1547949Ive got my ews on Grandmaster Flash, who has a good claimer on board, and Watersmeet who could be forgiven for needing the run last time. Good luck all.
