Ruptured a tendon at Carlisle last night. Heartfelt tribute from one of his owners here http://www.geegeez.co.uk/farewell-to-a-friend/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

I read the tribute and it’s well worth reading. Very sad for this horse – he was so young and although no champion, appeared to do his best, which is all anyone can ask.

It’s nice that the owner, part of a syndicate, seem to really care about him. His trainer also seemed to care very deeply.

The trainer, mentioned in the tribute, makes a comment regarding the circumstances of the horse’s being put to sleep which, if true, is absolutely shameful and makes me wonder about how horse deaths are recorded. And surely the public should know when a horse is killed racing? I’d certainly never have known if it wasn’t for this forum. Because the horse wasn’t put to sleep on the racecourse his death isn’t mentioned in the RP report of the race. Makes it look like his run just petered out.

At least he appears to have been much loved in his short life.
