Dissappointed that Federer joined the CrashBangWallop of Nadal and was beaten – why did he not try some guile? , some change of tactics e.g go to the net more often.

Nadal is a multiple French Open winner alongside Borg , Lendl , Wilander and Courier.

The following have never won in France – Sampras , Federer , Connors , McEnroe , Becker , Edberg.

I know which group I admire more.

In my opinion nothing in tennis comes near to the excitement in the 1980 Borg/McEnroe match.

Nadal is (just) a multiple French Open winner alongside Borg , Lendl , Wilander and Courier.

    .

Excuse me [b:3l7p8fox]you cannot be serious ! [/b:3l7p8fox]

Bornagain was number one for at least five years so was Lendil the where-have-you-been-stalk, again for five years, ( a rock ‘n roll suicide who’d shorten himself or kill for a cup of gold special brew) who made four Henman semis (or five) and two finals (beaten by boom becker and Pat-it-in-the-guitar-Cash) The french open is class – Pop Wilander and smack it Courier are successfully selling crepes with an old onion and garlic sauce bottle that reeks of ol’ gaffer Steptoe’s socks.

    Herr Lordenring,
we are not talking here about excitement alone,
in our assessment of the best tennis match of all time
    – mais non, we are not forgetting the pulse –
but we are reaching higher – mon dieu
to the mind – the organ of finesse that directs orders and lords it over a scintillating racquet to…. wait for it
redirect a winner to become another winner.
Borg and Mcenroe go back to their seats open-mouthed.
    Someone throws a mouldy crepe.

Borg came back again after Scandanavian sickness,
with his wooden racquets in tow, in the words of the song,
to try again. Do you know what ?
he lost so many matches he had to pawn his lifetime wimbledon seat
    to get into the veterans.

Noo I make fun – Borg and Mc were just a few gut strings away
from the god given guts we saw
    on serious Sunday.

McFly as a grey, and Rod the rocket Laver are both over the moon

    didn’t duck the issue
I put up a good defence of the tetherer
however the posting went over the line
    -IT DIDN’T MATERIALISE –
gone are the days when I re-write.

I have thought a lot about the comparisons.
    Hawkeye disturbs the flow
    but both matches are close
