The latest chat is Sandown for the celebration chase, but that could come a bit soon after its last race.
Maybe American grand national cud be the target?
April 14, 2021 at 08:44 #1536305A fair point. A good old racecourse gallop, followed by some wildly positive interviews perhaps.

April 14, 2021 at 10:28 #1536327It would be nice if Nicky could take him over to Ireland for a clash with Envoi Allen or Energumene. I would love to see him running against 7-8 horses from stables that really win Graded races.
April 14, 2021 at 10:34 #1536329Shishkin is entered on the Punchestown 2m Grade 1, but I doubt it. Hope I’m wrong, Energumene v Shishkin, & Monkfish v Envoi Allen, would show Cheltenhams novice events up for the tedium they were.

April 14, 2021 at 13:26 #1536353Henderson said straight after Shishkin had won at Aintree that he’s highly unlikely to try the Cheltenham-Aintree-Punchestown treble with any horse again. He reckons it contributed to Sprinter Sacre’s subsequent slump.
April 14, 2021 at 13:35 #1536355One of his more sensible comments to be fair. A big ask.
BUY THE SUN
April 14, 2021 at 13:50 #1536358But why did he take him to Aintree at all? Could have saved him for a proper race at Punchestown. If the Irish can travel why not a Henderson trained horse as well?
April 14, 2021 at 13:56 #1536361Why would connections do that? A 50/50 Grade 1 race having the bother of travelling overseas, or a penalty kick Grade 1 race a couple of hours down the road?

April 14, 2021 at 14:11 #1536363He is no stallion, so no reason for “black type”. I thought racing is about the best horses competing against each other at the highest possible level.
April 14, 2021 at 14:12 #1536364Also about bagging a bit of prize money Ruby I reckon!
BUY THE SUN
April 14, 2021 at 15:47 #1536383Ruby- you could turn it around and ask why Energumene didn’t travel to Aintree.
April 14, 2021 at 17:16 #1536412Maybe he wasn’t ready after his “setback” that prevented him from running in the Arkle.
