No idea yet. My daughter’s at a sleepover, so in theory, hubby and I can do what we want
In practice it’ll probably involve a nice meal (M&S of course), too much wine and me falling asleep on the sofa around 10pm.
December 30, 2008 at 03:08 #200310Dinner with my wife, mum, dad and godmother…… Sounds a strange mix but we are all foodies, and boozers and will cook 2 courses each (all pre-planned). It’s going to be about 7 hours at the table with lots of laughs and people disappearing to cook each course. Stomach getting ready…( tiny courses though..)
December 30, 2008 at 04:32 #200335I’ll be bashing the formbooks on New Year’s Eve, I’m afraid – well, I’m not afraid, actually, as I’m working a stint at Cheltenham the following day. Which is better than bad. It’s very good.
Need to leave the flat at 6am on New Year’s Day proper, though, so a little consideration from my neighbours re: letting me get some kippage would be appreciated. The words "p*ssing" and "wind" spring readily to mind, though.

December 30, 2008 at 06:04 #200350Well the plan is:
Going out for dinner in belfast at 5pm, then a nightclub till 3am, then a house party until about 8am, then a shebeen for a bit, then a funeral at 10am (hopefully mostly indoors, with sunglasses probably worth taking), then hopefully back to the shebeen till the party form wears off.
New Years Eve comes but once a year…

A herbal ‘E’ should help you through all that

Or, indeed, a bag containing pungent glue should suffice

December 30, 2008 at 19:13 #200428I don’t normally do New Year but in a break with tradition I have planned something different (and rather special) this year – however as Mrs O does not know what is planned I will tell more afterwards rather than ruin the surprise.
December 30, 2008 at 19:44 #200430Not much planned, Few drinks and probably order a Pizza or Curry.
If anything this is the most overated and pointless celebration of the whole year.
December 30, 2008 at 20:06 #200432My new years resolution will be 1024×768
December 30, 2008 at 20:16 #200438Bog all at the moment by the looks of it, playing grand thelft auto on my new ps3.

They would actually keep me awake for long enough, but it would not be an enjoyable experience at all, something else is needed, but havent decided what yet.
December 30, 2008 at 21:32 #200454Having performed my annual impersonation of a convivial jolly old soul on Christmas Day I will revert to my usual anally-retentive self and spend hogmanay considering Catters and Chelters. Though a glass of something weak will be raised on the stroke of midnight and the time-honoured mantra repeated: ‘ah well, another year older and deeper in debt’
And there’s a hand my trusty friend
And give us a hand o’ thine
And we’ll take a right goodwill draught
For auld lang syneHappy new year!
December 30, 2008 at 22:03 #200459I hate New Year; it’s also my birthday and I realized not long ago that I’m a year further away from my bus pass than I thought [boy; not much in my life to look forward to is there?!]….when I was born my mum had always said that if she had a baby that lived it would be on the front page of the papers…and I was..however my daughter is bringing my grandson over and we’re having a curry and she’s going to put up a new mirror in the bathroom which was my Christmas present….so that’s about it, really; to be honest can’t wait for life to become post Christmas/New Year and get back to some sort of routine..there isn’t a ‘bah humbug’ for NY is there..one needs to be invented!
December 31, 2008 at 20:03 #200662Well, go on Mo .. how old ..
