Do you hold the copyrights for the course maps (a daft question as they’ve been lifted from Racingpost.com) and gallery images? If not, it’s probably wise that you don’t use them until the appropriate permission has been obtained.
Other than that the basic design (i.e. layout) needs plenty of work and text needs to be formatted properly and consistently.

An outsiders view looking in. Home Run!!
What an Awesome piece of work. Really Most impressive.
Straightaway to my favorites list.
August 27, 2009 at 11:06 #246049Good stuff David, except the footage of the falls which is in poor taste imo. Your website would be better off without it. If you could lift all the Timeform Irish course descriptions onto your site that would also be awesome . Cheers.
August 27, 2009 at 11:30 #246050Kill the swirly cursor on the home page, most annoying.
Font’s a bit big – is it for accessibility reasons?
August 27, 2009 at 11:51 #246054I also notice you have the UK fixture list on your site without the required licencing wording – I presume you have obtained a reproduction licence.
August 27, 2009 at 14:15 #246060Any reason other than the obvious why youve included Great Leighs in the UK corses and left ot Ffos Las.
August 27, 2009 at 22:53 #246109Why have you done the website?
Who is your targeted audience? (racing novices etc?)Just that some of the info is available on much more high profiled websites.
Other than that, good work.
August 28, 2009 at 00:02 #246129Is that Denman at the top of the home page?
I’m sure you can find something more appropriate (please not Arkle).
Denman is British bred, British owned and British trained.
How about Notre Pere? (Ignore the French connections.)

Beg your pardon? Shurely Shome Mishtake??
August 28, 2009 at 00:47 #246135Okay, it is a good picture of Sam Thomas in celebration, but shouldn’t it be something more Irish? Or is there nothing more Irish than the Cheltenham Festival?
Edit – Oh, I’ve just realised my error. Denman is registered as Irish bred. I always think of him as British bred because his mum was.
Further edit: Bleeding hell. Another error. His mum was Irish as well. I blame Pollerton.

You must be thinking of a different British horse called Denman Gerald. The Denman I know couldn’t be more Irish, despite being sold after winning his PtP at Liscarroll. Just because we emigrate, doesn’t take away our identity

You’re working out the nationality of a racehorse by adding up the suffixes of all his ancestors?? Jesus wept, Gerald!!
August 28, 2009 at 02:18 #246159I went back in to see what effect the comments had on the lads site.
Not much-Tho I do NOT understand the English-Irish gesting. After seeing a tragic moment today, Whomever did say the falls are in bad taste–The Youtube stuff- Not what is there right now is reporting–But I would not want my baby((horse)) its demise being glamorized..
Also note to Website maker–The Newsletter portion is not operating.
Again thumbs up.

Hey, when one is losing an argument, one has to resort to desperate means.
August 28, 2009 at 06:33 #246181Get that horrid Denman character off the mainpage and throw up a photo of Danoli, Dawn Run, Spotthedifference, Hardy Eustace or even Hurricane Fly!! Otherwise, no complaints from me on the site.
