Following the recent post and following discussion we are now preparing the new site to go live on Tuesday morning.
We’ve planned it for Tuesday morning as this is a comparatively quiet time on the site and as we need to take the site down while we make the change we thought this would be a good time to do it.
We will confirm a more precise time closer to the day but in the meantime this is just intended as a polite heads up.
Thanks again for you all your feedback in the previous post, we’ve incorporated most of into the site and there should be the opportunity to work through some more once the new site is live.
With respect to the issue relating to passwords being recognised on the new site, this is a reported problem for sites that have upgraded to the latest version of the particular technology we use so as yet we haven’t been able to do much about it (although we are still trying!). A new password is easily retrieved using the forgotten password field though so some of you may have to use that – either way, we’ll let you know on the day.
As I previously mentioned once the new site is live, we’ll then be working through bugs that you’ve reported so hopefully by this time next week you’ll be able to update your profiles without a problem – at last!
Once the site has settled down we will then be making a hosting switch to improve the speed and availability of the site along with the oft-discussed incorrect forum clock. So a very exciting couple of weeks ahead, at least for Cormack, myself and the rest of the team.
Looking forward to meeting some of you at Ascot tomorrow

……………….and for Jim JTS no doubt.

Seriously – good luck with the switchover.

September 28, 2009 at 23:09 #250695Just to confirm the timings tomorrow that the site will be down while we make the switch to the new version.
We plan for the switch to take place between 9.30 and 11.30 so the site will be unavailable during this period.
Look forward to seeing you all on the new site!

Can’t wait James, TRF is one of the best around unlike others,I thank you for all your effort in making this site what is today.
The demo looked great btw! but what I like about TRF is that everyone is on level playing field there is no bias towards members and everyone has a chance to say what they feel regardless of their background in racing with some fascinating debate.
I’ve learnt from members on this website and hope to give future members the advice and guidence I recieved, and I ensure that I’ll promote TRF through all my contacts.
September 29, 2009 at 18:23 #250785Probably a little bit late to complain, but can something be done about it being grey on grey – it is so depressing. It doesn’t help that the typeface is so small.

September 29, 2009 at 18:54 #250789I’ve told my clock that it is British Summer Time – so mine is 4 hours out. [/color:368bx516]
September 29, 2009 at 18:56 #250790Dont worry the flash adverts are working fine.
September 29, 2009 at 18:58 #250792It takes ages for a page to load for me. I’d be here all day trying to enter and post on a few threads. I think i might be the only one with this problem. Maybe i’ll need Mozilla for this site perhaps ?
September 29, 2009 at 19:00 #250793We’re working on the timezone problem.
Should be fixed shortly.
September 29, 2009 at 19:03 #250795your not alone, its taking about 10-20 seconds for each page load here. The hamster advert is good, you can watch it while you wait on the page load.
September 29, 2009 at 19:05 #250796I’m using Google Chrome – no problems Graeme.
This should be color=black.[/color:2bgb7isu]
edit: doesn’t seem to be much different from grey.[/color:2bgb7isu]
