All –
Just a quick update to let you know we are still trying to resolve the issue with time/author of latest post on the forum menus not showing correctly. It is beyond my own (limited) technical knowledge and my colleague is super-busy. He thinks it might take some time to resolve and will involve resetting databases and other potentially tricky stuff so doesn’t want to start on it unless he has time to sit on it to resolve if it doesn’t prove straightforward. So if I can ask you to be patient – I know it is long-standing now and is frustrating a few of you so I apologise profusely for that.
Also – we have enabled a new feature whereby if you post a Youtube/Twitter/Flickr, etc URL it will now automatically embed the video or content into your post which will hopefully make it easier to share that sort of content.
Again, sorry for length of time it is taking us to resolve the issue referred to above,
DavidJanuary 18, 2020 at 20:12 #1480204I thought I’d do some messing around with the ‘last updated’ issue we have been having while waiting more techncal savvy colleagues to be able to delve into it and I think I have managed to find/stumble upon a temporary solution. We use web design software called WordPress to host the forum and a ‘plug-in’ called BBPress to manage the forum functionality. A recent update to the BBPress part of it seems to have created this problem for many sites. They don’t appear to have fixed it but a developer has created a small plug-in (piece of software) to work around it which I’ve installed and which seem to be working at the moment. Please let me know if not. Apologies it’s taken so long to find a fix (well, I hope it is a fix!).
Also – the recent update played havoc with with some font sizes in menus and stuff but I actually quite like them so was going to leave the ‘look’ as it is unless you all have violent objections?
