I’ve usually got a fair idea of which horses will be entered [the National being the highlite of my year!] but not much idea of who’ll be in it this time round. Go straight to the bookies the next day with a load of fifty pence pieces backing every horse carrying between 10.4 and 10.13! Lot of mention on ceefax of Hi Cloy who Ginger McCain has been trying to purchase [probably to replace Inca Trail]; Michael Hourigan says he’s better than Amberleigh House who he also used to train..

"The weights published date for this race has been brought forward by one week from Thursday, February 14th to Thursday, February 7th. As a result of this change, it should be noted that performances for qualification will now be taken into account up to and including Sunday, February 3rd and not Sunday, February 10th as previously published in the race conditions in Volume 1 of the Programme Book"

Interesting, David. Any reason given for the move forward?
