I think you are onto a major loser here. I am having three monster bets tomorrow, two of them in races you have mentioned.
2.35 Sandown Supreme Keano 13/8 now bet 365
4.20 Sandown Hohlethelonely 5/2 now bet 365
4.55 Fairyhouse Alexander SeaviewFebruary 13, 2009 at 06:44 #209958Hi Ronaldoo. So you’re having a monster bet today? Would that be
King Kong or Ding Dong?‘Ding Dong’
"Who’s There?"
"The Man"
"What Man?"
"The Man in the white coat here to take Roonaldo away."Question to Roonaldo: Are these three "MONSTER" bets part of your ‘Month’s Wages Thread’ or just ‘summer holiday’ (see that thread also) spending money?
Somehow, your bets range from the sublime to the ridiculous and based on your statement that you’ve barely had fifty bets in your whole life then you seem to be making up for lost time recently. If you ask me, I think you’re havin’ a laf. If it makes you happy then at least it keeps you away from hanging round street corners. Good wishes. Now hurry along otherwise you’ll be late for school.February 13, 2009 at 21:51 #210012Well done Marble with Silk Affair.
Blackbeard to conquer the World
February 14, 2009 at 02:14 #210045Nice work Marble
February 14, 2009 at 13:36 #210088Yes Marble, I agree, there’s plenty of racing but it’s such a mixed bag and there’s just something about the cards that it’s the kind of day that’s probably best left to the Saturday multitudes. I’ve tried to find something to throw into Bob’s competition; immediate thought was to latch onto the big races and find some outsiders but even here I’m struggling. They’re all so wide open and nothing stands out as a surprise package. In the 1.55 at Haydock, would I be right in thinking that some of these will be trying to sneak up the weights to qualify for the Grand National? Initially, I wondered if today might see the resurgence to form of the Twiston yard and whether Beat the Boys might spring a surprise but decided against in favour of a hopeful Carnival Town based purely on intuition and who knows perhaps its low weight might help it to get in the money.
February 14, 2009 at 14:48 #210094Postscript to above. Think I’ve found a 20/1 possibility in the 2.20 at Uttoxeter. Bamby (not a forlorn hope – dear oh dear) trained by Sue Smith with Henry Oliver aboard. Has won easily on heavy going. If it’s still this price come race time I think I might be tempted. Please do not risk your hard-earned money. Well, not until I’ve got mine on a minute before the off.

Only
Synchronised
(3.25 Haydock) really interests me after a facile victory last time out and the promise of more to come. The Jazz Musician is a possible danger, but after a tame effort on his reappearance (not that Joe Tizzard made much of an attempt to work him back into the race after an early mistake) he’s one to watch.
Gary Moore’s runner (the name escapes me) in the bumper at Ascot might be worth a look also.
February 14, 2009 at 20:36 #210208WD Equitrack, Unlucky with that one Marble
February 14, 2009 at 20:48 #210214Just thanked KJ in the other thread so it’s only right I do the same for Equitrack, as I had a little bit on Synchronized as well.
This place has brightened up my weekend considerably

Glad to be of service, and Gary Moore’s horse won the bumper at Ascot too.
Not a bad day, all in all (except for Marodima costing me the place dividend on the Scoop6 and Massamoit ruining a 400/1 five-fold).

I really liked the look of
Carronhills
for the hunter chase, marble, but the Racing Post’s forecast of 7/2 (which would have tempted me, despite my fear of betting in such races) would seem to be somewhat inaccurate.
The 6/4 is a little short for me.
The only other horse I had earmarked as a potential interest (other than Pandorama) was
King Of Leon
in Hereford’s bumper. Any horse that wins on the level for Henrietta Knight is generally decent and I don’t know that the concession of 7lb to Asturienne will anchor him.

I liked the look of
Shining Gale
in Southwell’s 3.00, but the RP’s forecast has again failed to materialise. On reflection 6/5 is probably fair.
My main interest for today will be
Another Brother
(4.00 Southwell). He ran four times during October, November and December when the O’Neill yard was struggling for form, and comes here on the back of a promising performance behind subsequent winner Heathcliff (also ran really well behind Synchronised at the weekend).
I don’t imagine the 4/1 will last long about McCoy’s mount.
February 18, 2009 at 13:37 #210864Well thats a lesson for me not to go over to hunter chases in Ireland…
To be honest I think i’m better at the higher grade stuff..
Nicozetto
(2:15 Carlisle) seems versatile having won twice at this track (20 & 26F). …
UPL – 8/1
marble
A note about Nicozetto. He doesn’t seem to be the same horse since he fell at Musselburgh in late December. It looked a heavy fall and he’s not been competitive since, so I wonder if it un-nerved him. It wouldn’t be a total surprise if he’s given a confidence booster over hurdles before long.

February 18, 2009 at 18:26 #210920Sorry Marble to jinx your selection but I like the look of
Cnoc Moy
also and backed it earlier with William Hills at 22’s but have also taken a little interest in
Nortonthorpe Lad
at 4’s.
Henderson’s will probably romp in now
February 20, 2009 at 18:03 #211333Good luck today Marb. You could be on a nice little double today with South O’the Border and Chief Scout, I think your right about both should go close at the least.
However, in the 4.20 I’m also gonna have a little interest in
Ice Image
at 20’s
February 20, 2009 at 18:08 #211336Had a look earlier today and liked Chief Scout, Ella Woodcock and Solis in the 420 at musselburgh, good to see him CS being backed, good luck marb.
February 21, 2009 at 22:59 #211621LOL, Marble!
Two nice winners and a good day!
