Bulwark…A fantastic set of selections. My God I hope you get a good run for your money as the race unfolds ( it’s a one off after all) and that you end up in profit. I too usually have a few punts on some long shots as well as my 2 picks Comply or die and D’Argent. GOOD LUCK.

Not original but I do fancy Comply or Die – I just hope that he gets in to a rhythm over the fences and that Timmy does not have him too far back asin the National, it seems to be better to be fairly prominent (and also keeps you out of danger of horses falling in front of you). I am afraid I have no fancy price (as I only bet small in the National) so will be taking the 10’s tomorrow.
As far as the outside goes – Ilike the look of Dargent and I just have a sneak for Lami. Very hard to justify backing Lami on this years figures, but just think he is the right age, has had a spin round Aintree before and been campaigned with the race in mind this year (and has a useful weight)
April 4, 2008 at 22:33 #155977In terms of big-priced runners I find the 125/1 on offer about Cornish Sett too dismissive. Looks a proper stayer, and has placed in competitive staying chases twice in the past 14 months off marks of 144 & 145 (running off 140 tomorrow). Rider Nick Schofield got a taste of the fences on Thursday and won’t miss his 5lb claim too much IMO. He’s a bit of a character (the horse, not Mr Schofield!), but I find that price too big and have managed to talk myself into a very small place bet.

I found 200/1 on Betfair this evening too tempting for the same reasons

April 5, 2008 at 00:40 #156011Hasn’t Jonjo been quoted as saying that Butler’s Cabin is ‘finished’…?
I’ve backed D’Argent @ 33/1 and Tumbling Dice @ 100/1+.
April 5, 2008 at 00:53 #156013Nearly, LGR – Butler’s Cabin has said that Jonjo is finished.

April 5, 2008 at 07:59 #156044Idle Talk is another one who i think could run well as he put in a great display in the Great Yorkshire and jumped well while being up with the pace until being unable to quicken but the extra distance will help and his recent run in the Kim Muir will have brought him on.
April 5, 2008 at 09:02 #156071Major market mover in the National…..The money is down for……………CONTRABAND. 500/1 into 250/1 with ladbrokes. Shocking ‘value’ that is. Should be 1000000/1.
April 5, 2008 at 09:21 #156079Liked Big Mac’s reply when asked to give his selection for the National.
It’ll have to be Compy or Die.

Alluding to the recent CH4 anouncement perhaps? Do you think he’s been given a dressing down ? Did I say a dressing down? If only. But you know what I mean?
