I can fill in a bit of the background to this one. Details of this horse’s demise were not made readily available either on the day at the course, in the Racing Post race comments or via the Stewards’ Report. This does not reflect well on the BHA or Kelso Racecourse.
Nastasiya fell heavily two out in the first division of the conditional jockeys’ hurdle*. She galloped away and we assumed all was OK. As we went to depart the stand it was noted that a horse had collapsed by the course exit, though none near to us could say which one it was. Horse ambulance came out but no horse was seen walking in so it was assumed that horse unknown had been fatally injured. Only found out which one it was when Prong posted.

*Carrarea came down three out in the same race but I assume came to no harm.
