NANNINA looks a stand out on these trends

Wil it stay though?
August 5, 2006 at 11:23 #74728If you are correct, shouldn’t Nannina have won the Falmouth by out staying the opposition off a slow pace?
August 5, 2006 at 11:27 #74729Wouldn’t speed be a greater weapon off a slow pace than stamina?

Yes
August 5, 2006 at 11:43 #74731Then why didn’t Nannina or Soviet Song (the speed horses) win the Falmouth?
August 5, 2006 at 11:58 #74732Soviet Song didn’t win because she isn’t as good as she used to be, lacks the turn of foot she once had (see the Sussex for further evidence) and was poorly positioned in a slowly-run race.

Possibly, but i’ve not given up on her just yet
August 5, 2006 at 12:21 #74734Corals want to lay OB, c’mon then show some balls and push it out
August 5, 2006 at 13:10 #74735In saying all that, Alexander Goldrun looks the best bet to me.

August 5, 2006 at 13:41 #74738An absolute cracking finish
Now yer can see why i wanted 6/4 TDK
August 5, 2006 at 13:53 #74739I agree. OB was far too short at Evs.
But she did it, so the odds ended up being right.

Great minds etc etc.
August 5, 2006 at 14:17 #74742I was happy with Alexander (6.4)(2.64) .. great race !!
:cheesy:
August 5, 2006 at 15:18 #74743I think the age stats aren’t really relevant anymore.
More and more top females are being kept in training ratehr than being packed off to the paddocks at the end of their 3yo seasons.
As a result, you can expect that the older horses are going to these races more often (which is what we’ve been seeing over the last few years).
Apologies if this sounds like aftertiming, I wasn’t on the forum this morning.
(and I didn’t back the winner anyway!)
