Cheers Trackside. I’ll keep an eye on it.
January 20, 2006 at 09:58 #68399I too will be having a small bet on Nakheel for the guineas.
With GW, although I was obviously impressed with his performances, I cant help but feel maybe he could be just the tiniest bit exposed. I always think the best 2 year olds to train on are those who run their best races towards the season end, and maybe leave themselves open to some improvement. Does GW have the scope to become a better 3 year old?
I do like Horatio Nelson though, a real lovely horse. Great acceleration (Dewhurst), great battling qualities (Grand Criterium), and even though he’s not the biggest, a very well balanced horse.
But you would want your head checked out backing a coolmore horse for any classic such is the uncertainty as to who will run, and who Fallon will ride.
January 20, 2006 at 10:11 #68400Also, deviating slightly, but I think Carlotamix is one who is very interesting for the derby. Should stay, and in the BBC Arc preview, they had a very insightful interview with Andre Fabre.
Fabre said his major aim left in horse racing is to win the english derby. Now, with the Prix du Jockey Club cut in distance, there is an even greater incentive to cross the water.
Anyone seen his 3 victories? He’s currently available at around 25/1 or so, I think.

Fabre has stated that the Derby will be the target of Carlotamix’s stable companion Linda’s Lad, who was runner-up behind Carlotamix in the Prix de la Chenes.
October 18, 2006 at 15:37 #68402Was trawling through the old threads and saw this one. I was wondering what people thought about NAKHEEL now? I assume he is staying in training as a 4yo? I think he could still be up to G1 level if fully fit.
Nice work Maxilon btw:biggrin:
