Backed Roll the Dice and the King/Choc horse in the same race. Fair enough.
Backed Houblon Des Obeaux with great confidence then discovered after the race was over that despite telling me the bet was accepted Betfair had in fact not matched the bet. Try finding the telephone number on the site. That site is absolutely treacherous.
Had a look at the November handicap: plumped for Communicator. Made sure I got the bet on. A textbook Flat gutting. It was nice in the closing moments to have picked a decent horse at a decent price that was going to win. Had to get beat of course.
Did a Nicholls trixie fully aware that he only has trebles when I’m not on. Poungach and Prospect Wells; nuff said. The Wells race was a good one I’ll give it that.
So, there we are. Another Saturday, about 100 down on the day.
November 10, 2012 at 15:20 #419615I blame the person who forced you to bet
November 10, 2012 at 15:25 #419616I was confident Sirius Prospect would win if it didn’t give away too much ground out of the stalls. Out he jumped with the rest but this is flat racing and Kelly tried to come from the back in a big field got no run and flew home for fourth.
I love Diamond Harry but surely not on a tight right-handed track, hope he runs well though.
November 10, 2012 at 15:52 #419618I rounded off with a bet on Grissom but couldn’t get the place money on with betfair at 13/1.
Thank god the flat’s over.

Unlike your goodself (and the Morning Line team of tipsters) I’m sorry to see the end of the flat..it’s been a great season made especially so for me betting wise by Samitar winning the Irish 1,000 Guineas (got 20/1) and of course the fantastic efforts of Frankel, Black Caviar the highs and lows of Camelot and the courage of Sir Henry Cecil.
Sir Michael Stoute on the other hand will probably agree with you Prof. as I can’t remember him having a worse season on the flat for a long time.Hope next Saturday brings better fortune
